Today, on this 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe, we will be installing Hidden Hitch part number 87419. This installation will also apply to the Draw-Tite part number 41543. Okay, a couple things we want to do in preparation to installing our trailer hitch, we want to first go ahead and lower down our space tire and get it out of the way. We are also going to need to go ahead and lower the exhaust. We just need to remove that off of the two rear most hangers and then the one at the forward side of the exhaust. To remove the hangers, we want to go ahead and spray down the studs with a spray lubricant, like a WD-40. And we will just take a pair of pliers and pry it right off there. We want to repeat that for all three of the hangers. We also want to make sure that we support the exhaust tube here before we remove the third hanger. Once we do, the exhaust could fall and possibly damage it. 0:52
And then, starting over on the driver side, we want to go ahead and remove the factory installed tow hook. There are three bolts holding the tow hook into place that need to be removed. And we also want to remove the rearmost bolt from the frame as well. We will be reusing those weld nuts for the installation of our trailer hitch. We will be using the new hardware provided with our installation kit. We will also be using the weld nut that is a little bit forward here of where the tow hook was. And then over here on the passenger side, we will again be removing the tow hook and the two bolts holding it in, as well as the forward most bolt. We will be reusing all three of those weld nuts as well in our hitch installation. With all of those bolts removed, we can go ahead and put the hitch up into position. Into each one of the weld nuts that had an existing bolt, we are going to be using the new 10 millimeter bolts, along with the conical tooth washer. The one weld nut on the driver side that did not have a bolt in it, we are going to go ahead and use a 12 millimeter bolt with the conical tooth washer as well. 01:57
And now that we have all of the bolts installed, we can go ahead and start torquing them down. We want to check with the directions to verify the appropriate torque ratings for each individual bolt. And with all of the bolts torqued down, we just want to make sure that we put our exhaust back up on its hangers and then reinstall our spare tire and our installation will be complete. With our hitch installed, front the top of the receiver tube to the ground itself is going to be 14-7/16 inches and then from the center of the pin hole to the rear edge of the bumper is 3 inches. This will conclude the installation of Hidden Hitch part number 87419 on a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Wiring? Is there a plug-in already ready to go or do you have to do the piggyback wire connectors on the blinkers and brakes?
