Hey! I bought this pattern and will try to make it soon! I looked through your other patterns, and would actually like to see a princess seam shirt/dress "the new look style" from you! I love your style and your clear patterns and videos, hope you'd think that's a good idea! ❤️
@@khushh_singh Hey, i would. But it's not fair to the creator, it's like stealing from her... You should contact her and I'm sure she'll help you. She is very very nice.
😮 Now this is exactly the type of outfit I'd love to wear 😍! Just found your channel and subscribed right away. I hope to make this someday really soon. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos in the future. 😁👍
This is a lovely dress and the tutorial is wonderful. I find it hard to tolerate (short attention span) the tutorials where they talk forever before getting into the work itself so I appreciate how quickly this was done. I am just wondering why the bodice is split into top and bottom instead of being made whole with no stitching of top to skirt. Did you want it to be that way for a reason? For me, I would do it as just 2 pieces front and back for bodice to save time, but it truly is nice how you did it also. Maybe I will hack the pattern to make it work.
Thank you for watching this video! For this dress only stretch knit fabric will fit, though if you would like to use a woven fabric I recommend the Eloise dress sewing pattern! Here’s the link to it:dressmakingamore.com/products/eloisepattern
I'm planning on making it as a crop top and wondering if it can be worn off the shoulder or if the top would just fall down haha :) btw love the video thank you! x
Im an ABSOLUTE begginer. I love this dress so much and i want to make it!!. Do you think i can make it without having a mental break down? (I make a tote bag before and it turned out just fine)
Hi! This dress pattern is only made for stretch knit fabric ❤️ I do have a similar dress design - Noelle: dressmakingamore.com/products/noelledresspattern - which is made with woven fabric :)
Quick question! In the video it says “fold a quarter inch to the backside and pin” when starting with the neckline. In the printed instructions it says “fold 1/2 in to the wrong side and pin.” Just trying to decipher which is best for the best finish! Is the 1/2 inch for a 1/2 in elastic?
Thank you for nice tutorial ..Im learning to sew I had a question about your clip.i couldn't understand how you drew the pattern of them did you use muller pattern or turkish?
I bought this pattern and tried it. I love the design, but I wanted to ask what stitch do I use for attaching the skirt to the bodice? Can I just serge it? I used straight stitch last time and serge and it broke my straight stitch, do you use a zigzag or stretch stitch for attaching the waist seam instead?
hi! It depends on the fabric, sometimes I use a straight stitch, other times only serger or both - for really stretchy fabric use a zigzag. So you need to choose the stitch that is most suitable for your fabric, testing it. With experience you will automatically make right choice :)
Hi, in one of the photos (crop top version) on your website, it looks like the sleeves are sheer. Is that a different fabric from the rest of the dress?
This pattern looks really pretty! could i ask if this is lined on the inside? because if i make this for a friend with sensitive skin, it would be better if its lined.
Hi Frankie! Because this dress doesn't have ease and bust darts, it won't have the needed shape with woven fabric. So, I do recommend knit fabric for the Ophelia dress :) If you like this type of dress, I do have a similar design for woven fabric - please check out the Noelle dress :)
Hi! 😊 This is absolutely amazing! I have one question about the seams. Do we have to always overlock the allowances? Because my sewing machine doesn't do that kind of seams :/
Thank you :) ❤️ When your fabric frays or unravels, you need to finish the edges in one way or another. You can fold the fabric and zigzag over, use a baby hem or bias finishing to finish the edges, and use a french seam for the seams as some options for you :)
You would also need to take into consideration bust darts, back darts, and ease to the dress :) In general, patterns for stretch knit fabrics are built differently than for woven fabrics, even if the woven fabric has some stretch to it.
Hi! This Ophelia dress pattern is only made for a stretch knit fabric, however if you'd like to use a woven fabric I suggest using the Eloise sewing pattern, linked here: dressmakingamore.com/products/eloisepattern
Great question Christianna! There is elastic on the shoulders, so make sure to get a high-quality one with good recovery. Otherwise it may stretch out, but not come back. Thank you for watching :)
How do you get the dress on? This pattern is pretty but not everyone could put this on as easily as you do.. there was no zipper anywhere?? Every has different body types... I’d convert this to having a zipper
Hi Ann! For this dress, you can use satin for the sleeves, but you do need stretchy fabric for the main dress bodice and skirt as there is no closure. I'm currently working on a pattern for a beautiful dress that you can use satin fabric for! It's coming soon :)

This is beautiful! In your opinion, how do you think the dress would look/work out if I lengthened the hem to make it floor length?
Great idea! It would look beautiful! Just measure from your waist down to your desired length, and add that to the pattern/fabric layout :)

Hi, in one of the photos (crop top version) on your website, it looks like the sleeves are sheer. Is that a different fabric from the rest of the dress?
Hi! Yes, I used chiffon for the sleeves for that top!
Thanks, so nice..😍
That's an idea for me..
Hello dear
Please how did you calculate the measurement of the elastic that goes on the upper part of the sleeve?
Hi! There is more information on how long the elastic should be in the instructions, on the fabric layout page :)
@@DressmakingAmore Oh okay thanks a lot💕

If I installed a zipper on the back would I be able to use a woven fabric for this pattern?

For this dress, you would need around 1.7 meters of knit fabric :)
@@DressmakingAmore ok

Thank you so much Viktorya! For this dress, you'll need about 1 1/5 -1 5/8 yds, which is about 110-150 cm of fabric :)
@@DressmakingAmore Thanks a bunch🌸 i will try🧡

If I made this dress with a wolven would a zipper at the back be the only thing to consider or would there be other considerations?
