Ayr Station Hotel fire - How it affects services (28 September 2023)

Ayr station update 28/09/23
Following the major fire at the Ayr Station Hotel earlier in the week, we won't be able to run any trains to or from Ayr for at least the next few days.
Before the station and railway can reopen, Network Rail will need to check the infrastructure for damage - this includes the station itself, as well as the track, signals and overhead power lines. All of this will take time.
Glasgow Central - Ayr services will run between Glasgow Central & Prestwick Town in both directions, while Stranraer - Ayr services will only run between Stranraer & Girvan.

Just like what happened at Troon. Hopefully it wasn’t as devastating as the one that destroyed most of the building structure at Troon railway station back in 2021.

no but all i know is a 17 and 13 year old did it hopr that heped a wee bit
