Anyone ever notice whatever hat Gavin DeGraw wears on his album cover, we wears that same hat when he tours for that album. For Chariot it was this hat, for Free it was a flat cap, for Sweeter it was a fedora.
He wrote all of the songs in the three first albums except for 'Indian summer' which is a cover.. Then at his fourth album, many of the songs is co-written with Ryan Tedder, and I got to say I didn't like those songs.. I mean they were OK but Gavin is not an OK artist.. He is an awesome artist! ;) So hopefully, Gavin will write his own songs without any help (because he doesn't need it), from now on!..

Around here we call that a hat or cap- a hood (at least where Im from) is attached to a sweatshirt or coat, which is why I was a bit thrown off by your comment- but to answer your question Gavin wears hats (or as you call them "hoods") quite a bit. Id say theyre sort of his trademark. =)
thats funny his "dont hit me with a bottle" comment, summerfest modesto, cali, they threw a bottle at him and his guitarist, there was almost a riot, everyone wanted to beat up the guy who did it!!!!

Gavin's concert at Mt. Winery in Saratoga, Ca was wonderful! He was funny, talented and genuine. I love his voice, attitude and stage presence.
