[Miraflores Cat Park]
No one knows how it originally started, but Parque Kennedy has become a haven for stray cats. These days you can see dozens of friendly cats walking around the park, climbing on the trees, and otherwise sharing the space with locals and visitors.
The municipality carries a detailed account of the cats in Parque Kennedy, including the population size and their sanitary conditions. More importantly, cat lovers founded an association, Gatos Parque Kennedy, to care for and defend the rights of these felines. Along with the municipality, the group provides sterilization for the cats living in the park. The association also feeds the cats daily and oversees the adoption process in case someone wants to take one home.
[Parque Kennedy Overview]
Parque Kennedy occupies an area of about 5.5 acres or 240,000 square feet. The park is home to a Catholic church, the Virgen Milagrosa Church built in 1939. The park also hosts the Municipal Palace, headquarters of Miraflores’ local government. The Chabuca Granda Amphitheater and some smaller squares are where you can find everything from handicrafts and artisans to street food vendors and live performances.
Colorful flower beds frame the park and tall shade trees add to the park’s beauty. Unexpectedly, Parque Kennedy has become a natural shelter for dozens of friendly cats and kittens. The cats wander around the green areas, sharing the space with visitors who can even adopt one.
In recent years, the park has also become the main station for Mirabus, a city sightseeing service that connects several tourist spots throughout Lima - departing from and arriving at Parque Kennedy.

Los gatos no son felices en la calle. ese es un parque donde los abandonan y ahí como en cualquier otro parque están en peligro constante. NO ES NINGÚN PARAÍSO. No desinformes, la gente abandonara más gatos si creen que eso es un "paraíso".
This is an English speaking channel for tourists to Peru. The tourists don't bring the cats to the park, only the locals. The locals probably don't even understand me lol
Even then, the problem lies with the owner of the cat, not somebody who makes a video about what they see.
If the owner doesn't want the cat anymore, then what? They kill it? Eat it? Put it on the street? I think this park is better than any of those options. At least they get fed here and removed during events.
There is also an adoption booth at this park where people here can adopt the cats straight from the park itself.

Bueno adoptalos tu entonces si tanto que quejas! Al menos esos gatos en ese parque son alimentados ya que los dueños de mrd los abadonaron
que dices ? vez a los gatos asustados o incomodos ? , los gatitos ahí están atendidos y apoyados por buenas personas, que estén bien no significa que la gente vaya a dejar sus gatos ahí, no confundas el mensaje del video.
Para mi es una barbaridad apoyada por la gente, si tanto le gustan los gatos wue se los lleven a sus casas, el parque es un lugar de esparcimiento, da asco que se acerque un gato , trasmiten una enfermedad que se la pasan al humano
Escuché que el parque estaba plagado de ratas y el gobierno introdujo gatos para ayudar con eso. No sé si es cierto, pero el problema parece haberse perpetuado desde
esos gatos están mas sanos que tu, la que da asco es usted. Las enfermedades no se trasmiten por la mirada., esos gatitos ayudaron en su momento a esa zona de Lima merecen su respeto como cualquier ser vivo.
