Since Russia invaded Ukraine a year ago, foreign volunteers have been pouring into the country to help the Ukrainians resist the Russians.
Kyiv has gotten a lot of weapons from NATO countries, but Ukraine's forces also need basic stuff like personal protective equipment or training for soldiers. The volunteers do whatever's needed.
GZERO caught up with two members of Ukraine's international legion. One of them is a former bike messenger from Germany who now operates drones. We also met an American who helps crowdsource funding from Europe.
It's not an easy life. What's more, they know they could end up dying - and say they are ready for it.

You have to fly in a plane to poland where there is a cross over in the south east. Once you get there they will service you with everything. Its not like a phone app where you sign up or a website. You have to get htere first.

not just birds, it depends on where in the world you are and time of day or night, like at night if the bugs, crickets are making noise then they haven't heard or seen anything but that don't mean someone or something like a predator isn't around. or if your on fire watch and still and silent and the bugs or animals suddenly go quiet then something just showed up.

Check the pricetag for a humvee and consider the fact that you can loose dozens of them within a week (which means you need spare parts to repair them and pay salaries to mechanics). The same goes for simple stuff as radios, drones, and even batteries for them. War is expensive. Simple as that.
Finally they remembered to hide their tattoos from the cameraman!
According to Council on Foreign Relations "Sanctions have had only a limited effect, as India, and others continue to purchase Russian energy" Also India is a massive coal user and a democracy. Does it not behoove us to help India and others go greener faster? Shouldn't democracies stick together? Isn't it a win win for the planet, and democracy to help these countries go greener faster?

Because ukraine sucks at winning a war
Billions of dollars sent and somehow the volunteers and troops are still crowdsourcing. Lets hope the Ukrainian government takes care of their veterans better than the US
Billions are not sent directly to Ukraine. Mostly they are paid for the weapons and to the manufacturers in your own countries. And foreign funds cant be spend on military salaries etc. On top Ukraine is not as wealthy and big as russia to afford such full scale war so of cause we are lucking everything. But never the less considering everything Ukraine achieved a lot already. And we are grateful for all the help we are getting.

We have no say so where are the stinking government sends it. We have our own vets that are sleeping on the ground outside. @@TETPochatok Yes because those weapons work and others dont. Try spending it to non working weapons, than you’ll lose the war for sure. I have seen a whole country going down because they decided they will steal US technology and make their owns.
Weapons & Intelligence technologies are the most complex technologies on earth and the result of maybe 100 years of work by World’s best minds. They cannot be done in 1 year by stealing US technology and trying to “copy it” but they did it and now a whole country is down.

Every global conflict has an impact on global economies. Look at the price of energy and food. There is also the possibility of political instability in Europe and surrounding nations.

@Bernie Sully but America also profits from this war (ie. Weapons and defense manufacturing and distribution, political instability, alliances and sanctioning measures, intelligence and data gathering via satellites and drones, etc).
Also Most of the modern technological advances that we use are a by-product of war.
War in some way is an American business (think about the military industrial complex and the arms race with nuclear weapons and rocketry). it's a nation that thrives during global conflicts...
