- You probably first saw Viggo Mortensen in Witness, but you probably remember his name from The Indian Runner or Crimson Tide or GI Jane or a little series called Lord of the Rings. He has been twice nominated for Oscar, most recently for his turn in the family drama, Captain Fantastic. He spoke to David Poland when the film was being released.

Viggo is one of the best. The most mysteriously charismatic actor who ever graced the silver screen. His performance in Eastern Promises stands out as one of the all time greats.
Viggo can play anything. And that anything will always be а masterpiece due to his extraordinary personality, empathy and intellect.
So glad he is nominated in the Best Actor category. Well deserved.
Nowadays I am wathcing literally all the fims which he appeared. The More I watch his acting, the more I have a crush on him... oh...he is so a stunning and unbeilevable actor...

I agree with Mr. Mortensen...life is short ...live our life every single moment! Live in the best way possible, participate, be curious, go to concerts, do anything and don't close yourself off.

Why? Do you think the other nominees did a better job, I don't think so. Casey Affleck's acting was bland, Andrew Garfield's role was way too cheesy, Ryan Gosling same, Denzel already won 2 oscars. Viggo deserves this one imo.
I honestly think that Casey Affleck has his win locked down. Viggo was definitely one of the stronger performances out of the five nominees, but I would bet the Oscar either goes to Affleck for Manchester or Andrew Garfield for (officially) Hacksaw Ridge and (unofficially) Silence.
We'll see, I hope you're wrong. The Academy shouldn't just copy&paste the results from other award shows. Viggo FTW!

Despite of bad conditions in interview environment, He is doing his best and giving us good looking and sayings. I admire his working style. He gives lots of inspiration to many people in movies and interviews.

Cellphone is ringing, door gets opened, camera is shaking, some crewmember is putting his arm inside the camera frame.... Those things make that great interview look kind of unprofessional.
yeah, and he looks a bit a annoyed by it all. The interviewer should have apologized a tried to make it more of a comfortable environment for an interview - especially when the subject matter is so heavy.
Make it kind of painful to watch.

Love the actor, he was awesome in the movie "The Road" but this movie was an ideological piece of crap, sorry.
Saying Captain Fantastic is ideological is like saying Wolf of Wall Street glorifies criminal greed. It presents that hippie lifestyle but it doesn't promote it.
