All the tracks in the prototype except Sheila's Alp (which is just quieter and less squished than the final game track) are different mixes. In Bamboo Terrace's case several layers are missing and the Spectrasonics Heart Of Asia Canton vocals were mostly removed in the later mix (not entirely though, listen to the intro of the final mix, the first one is still there).
i was a baby when i discovered the waterfall glitch. the way i did it is i would press the dive under button at that sweet spot that i saw you were aiming for. when u brought it up it made me so happy because i didnt think anyone else knew about it. very neat
man, the tiger enemies actually looked cool and it seemed like they were mostly finished, i wonder why they scrapped them and if the reason was somehow anything related to violence, i'm calling shenanigans cuz the villain in this game wants to literally kill over a hundred baby dragons and tear their tiny wings off

IDK if anyone else has ever experienced this or HOW on earth I got it, but as a kid, there was a time I was playing this game and at 52:48 the rinoc didn't chase down the chicken and kill it. Instead, It either wasn't there or I had killed him-- because the chicken was just happily pecking at the ground around the water. I remember walking up to it, it had no collision and I would just hang around it and let it peck at me. you could even see the inside of it's mouth! ... I don't know how I managed this though, and to this day I haven't seen anyone find this if it's a glitch or just an outcome? Still, every time I play the level I try to figure out how it happened, glitch it or skip the scene somehow... Perhaps it was just a result of an old scratched disk. My heart longs for the chicken to be safe and peck at the ground in piece.😢
Are you sure the rhynoc left it alone initially? I remember once you played through the whole level and cleared it out, idk if I found it coming back from skateboarding or what, but a chicken would be chilling up in that area. Thought it was just a nice little added effect lol

Weird how the prototype explained things that happened randomly in the final version - with Sgt. Byrd, for instance, the bombs you drop just kinda started showing up at the end of the level with no explanation, there were no armored enemies and Gabrielle (I think that was her name) never mentioned them. And the room where we talk to Sheila being in that space behind that wall explains why there was a space behind that wall in the final game, I always wondered about that (you can see it by double-jumping at the top of that double-high mushroom, but you can't reach it). Also, as someone who did a whole high school project on all the details of the baby dragons in this game, I can attest that few if any of these names are the same as the ones given to the final dragons. The newly-hatched dragon animations are all found in the final game, though, though I admit I can't remember precisely which ones did which things in the final game. Jack's white-tinted shades aren't in the final game, I can tell you that, which is probably why his texture was off…even if the shades were supposed to be black, I don't think that accessory model's in the final game. That said, I take offense to "once you go Reignited [anything], you never go back." I have purged that abomination from my mind, especially Spyro 3 - Spyro 1 Reignited was okay, Spyro 2 was passable (though it was always my least favorite of the original trilogy so I gave it some slack), but Spyro 3 Reignited made me want to nuke the disc in my microwave, it missed EVERY point by a country mile, every single delightful detail in the original was absent in the "remaster" and I felt nothing but burning rage before I was even halfway through. I remember nothing but my anger. FOR INSTANCE, did you know that every baby dragon in the original Spyro 3 had a design based on one of the five clans from the first game, with the very rare exception of a sixth, unique model that only appeared for babies you had to do something SUPER-special to rescue? The PS1 games play just as well as or better than Reignited if you turn on the Active Camera Mode or, if you're like me, you use an emulator to remap the camera controls to the right analog stick. (Except for Agent 9. Reignited fixed his controls.) Omigosh, the fodder in Cloud Spires was baby versions of the bird enemies from Lofty Castle!

Anyone remember that unused bonus portal in Dino Mines, you could only access via a swimming in the air proxy? I know the rumour is it was created by a team of developers, who ended up going on vacation and it never got finished. I have a feeling it would've been used in the final product though; because surely game code and design wasn't that hard to delete back then? My guess is it was actually a last minute addition to the game, since you only have 117% as opposed to a solid 120%; and they had to cut it - and an Egg - in the process.
That’s not the rumour re: Dino Mines, you’re getting it mixed up with the Midnight Mountain pedestal / whirlwind. The developer that created the level went on holiday a few weeks before the game was finalised and in that time someone rearranged part of the level and removed a whirlwind from it. As for Dino Mines, the sublevel was scrapped supposedly due to time constraints. It was planned until very very late into development and the egg that replaced it was the random extra one inside the bank in Agent 9’s sublevel. In either scenario the total egg count is 150, and this has absolutely nothing to do with the final percentage of 117% - this number is just what you end up with if you apply the percentage calculation which gives 100% for 149 eggs + 15000 gems to 150 eggs + 20000 gems instead. Spyro 1 works differently because there’s a second percentage calculation for when the player exceeds 12000 gems.

The boxing match in the early build reminds me of what I did to cheese the skill point. Did you know that you can put another controller in the second port to make it a two player game? And that if you do that while you're on your own, the Colossus Yeti will stand completely still?
funny you mention reignited controls because i absolutely detest Spyro's physics in the reignited trilogy. gliding is too heavy, turning while charging is too difficult, and flight stages are nigh unplayable. but the spyro 3 extra characters control really well.
This is not a prototype game this was released years ago as a full game back in my childhood. back then it was state of the art for the tech that was available to the game creators . the newer spyro games were remake
This is a prototype of the original spyro 3 for ps1. This was made after Spyro 2 came out. It's unrelated to the reignited triligy, which are remakes if the fully released games. This build he's playing was never publicly released x'D. Panda calling Spyro a smartass woulda been hella funny in the official release though.

You can't. Double jumping has been removed in this build too.
