Patrick Mahomes became the fastest quarterback in NFL history to throw for 25K yards, accomplishing the feat in Week 3 of the 2023 NFL season, his 83rd career game. Mahomes passed Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who reached the milestone in 90 career games.

I think Donovan hired Reid too but I'm sure Hunt chose him.
@thecultivar1711 Clark Hunt hired Andy. There was another suitor, so to speak, waiting in a private jet to give Ried a head coaching interview at an airport in Philadelphia, if I remember correctly. I do not remember the team that they represented. Anyway, that interview never happened, and that other GM flew back in that jet empty-handed. Clark convinced Andy that his best opportunity was with the Chiefs and the two of them talked for hours about football and family and probably money, although that was not in the article that the rest of this information was in. So yeah, good job, Clark.
I think Andy & the personnel department made a great move bringing in Alex Smith. They, along with the other players, set the standard of winning. Mahomes has surpassed that standard by winning in the playoffs.

The spin move around two Tampa Bay defenders with a lob pass to CEH for a TD is one of the greatest plays I’ve seen him perform.

I still think the diving throw to hit Williams in the face in the endzone in the Tampa Superbowl is it, even though it was incomplete. It was the athleticism/talent that was impressive, not the result of the play. Because lets be honest. Had it been caught, that would have shot up to be the #1 throw of all time, likely forever.

there honestly has never been a better QB. almost every QB is missing something but Pat is 8 to 10/10 in every facet of QBing. doesnt have mannings iq but is not far from him in that department, is not LJ in terms of athleticism but is not far from that, he is the most elusive QB ever, the best scrambling QB ever, the most versatile and talented arm ever and has ultra instincts. Hes clutch, hes a winner, he puts up crazy stats, his skills are truly unmatched if we being totally honest

The thing about these plays that makes Mahomes Jordan like, is that the other players and the announcers are blown away by his plays. It's one thing to make a great play. It's on another level to make play after play that amazes the people that are used to seeing great plays. To impress these people to a point that they are unable to call it like any other play is what makes it special. He is simply the best player to ever play. It's greatness.
EDIT: If Hunt had stayed with the Chiefs, no doubt, he would have been in the conversation as the best RB to ever play. He was a beast. And the chemistry was out of this world. He would have done great things in KC.

During the time that he, Patrick Mahomes, was at Texas Tech he went 13 - 19 which on the surface doesn't look too impressive. What impresses me about the Chiefs organization is that they looked at him seriously and drafted him pretty early on his combine and expected ceiling to which he should rise.

Watching the old games with the three amigos, Mahomes, Kelce and Tyreek Hill together, were the best! Those three should never have been separated. They were unbeatable. The shock and Oh No I felt when I heard they traded Hill to Miami. It was unbelievable. I still wonder "What were they thinking?" They were thinking they promised Mahomes waay too much money and needed a way to fulfill such a contract. Miami wanted him, Hill wanted some place warm to be during the Midwest winters, if he had to go Miami would be the place for him. Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill. The best trio in Chiefs football history.
Tyreek cost us the AFC championship win in 2021. We won the super bowl the year he left. I say good riddance! Our team was better off without him, his trade is the reason our OLine is so good and I'd rather have Mahomes protected

lol Patrick is the greatest QB playing on the field today I would agree. He has a long long hill to climb to even enter the GOAT conversation reasonably though. Maybe bring it up if he gets 5, but that still won't be enough to have a reasonable conversation.
As great a start as Patrick is off to, Brady had more rings than Mahomes already, and KC was stacked with talent when Mahomes joined. Brady joined the worst performing professional sports franchise at the time.
On his best day, Mahomes is better than Brady was on his best day. Be fair to Mahomes and give him a chance. Give Patrick a chance to surpass Brady, don't just lower the bar for him and pretend he's the GOAT.

I am not looking forward to the post Mahomes Chiefs era..... Patriots fans have aged a decade since 2020.
Patrick is young. He actually has a Brady-like chance at surviving a Chiefs rebuild and then having a second HOF career with them like Brady had with the Pats.
The challenge there is a lot of Mahomes' success comes from his physical magicianism and that is going to start fading in the next five years or so.
Other option would be for Patrick to ride the wave with the Chiefs, and when it is rebuild time just hop to a stacked superbowl ready team that 'just needs a QB' like the Rams were for Stafford or Tampa Bay was for Brady.
