- Kim English was an American electronica, soul, gospel, and house music singer, born in Chicago, Illinois, United States.
Between 1995 to 2007 she had 13 hits on Billboard's Club/Dance chart, 8 of them peaked at No'1.
In the UK she had 4 Top-75 hits, one of them (Nitelife, 1994) peaked at No'35.
On April 2, 2019 Kim passed away at the age of 48.

I heard her songs in my clubbing days but never knew the artist. Her songs bring joy to me when I hear them. May she live on through her music.

I didn't know she'd passed! Sad! I got to know her on a Boy George DJ collection cd. He included a slower version of 'Nitelife' and I fell in love with it straight away. I listen to it to this day. It's actually better than the original.

Kim English has and always will always be a staple of my clubbing days (I've retired from clubbing). To this day I still listen to her with Unspeakable Joy, Time for Love and Jumpin' and Bumpin' being my favourites. Your music will live on as do you in my heart. RIP

The specific cause is unknown but Kim English had kidney failure and had been on dialysis for years.

Hi, she was one of my closest & best friends for over 25 years and I was out of the country when she passed so I didn’t even know until I got back to the states about a week later when she went to be with The Lord. She was on kidney dialysis for a few years & was even on a list to receive a new kidney but she did die of kidney failure the doctors did say.
