I loved the songs on Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation, but I always wished I'd get to hear versions of those songs produced and performed well. I wasn't expecting to ever get to have this happen. 🔥
@@squaredcircle1111there is no problem with revamping classic music by said band, or in this case 2 ex members of Sepultura. Thank goodness Sepultura NOW didn't decide to re record Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation!
In my opinion Morbid Visions is one of the best example on how you should combine black metal and thrash metal. The re-recording of this album really shows that this album were thoroughly written and the Cavalera brothers treats us with not jus an ordinary re-recording. Good job Max, you've made the right decision, twice.
The doom metal they threw in both as an intro to this song and in parts of the rest of the songs rerecorded on this occasion helps, too. Great metal takes elements of everything it can make fit, and this is a classic example.
This is seriously way too good. I did NOT expect this re-recording to soind SO good. Vocals are brutally mind-blowingly good! CAVALERA BROTHERS ARE THE REAL SEPULTURA. NO OTHER CAN REPLACE THEM!!!!!! MASTERMINDS 🤘🤘🤘
I often wonder what would have happened if Sepultura had gone down the path opened by the Schizophrenia album instead of what happened after Scott Burns got involved. This recording is like a hint of the answer. We could have had a perfect blending of death, black, and doom metal.
@MontySilverUG Yeah, Jairo started that band to help resurrect the sound that was captured on Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions. It's almost like having 3 versions of Sepultura now...Sepultura (current lineup with Derrick Green), Troops of Doom (Jairo), and Cavalera. It reminds me of the whole Morbid Angel/I Am Morbid or Terrorizer/Terrorizer LA situation.
it was earlier than 1997. I bought Schizophrenia on cassette in 1992 and it had Troops Of Doom as the bonus track @msw0322. (just checked Discogs: Roadrunner reissued Schizophrenia in 1990 with Troops Of Doom)

Just one word : BRAVO ! I was listening to this album/song when I was 15. It is such a good idea to have it recorded again ! Moreover, the sound perfectly pays tribute to your production of the 80s. I got into sepultura circa Chaos AD and, although I did try, I couldn’t get myself to listen through the earlier albums due to the recording quality. Rediscovering this catalogue now is like the best birthday present I could wish for my turning 40.
