This is a really handsome, rugged piece from Ball! Thanks for the great video about it! I recently reviewed the Ball Hydrocarbon Original in 40mm and really enjoyed it, it had the same clasp as the watch in this video. The clasp functions great but I noticed some pretty sharp edges on some of the corners of the underside of the clasp, did you happen to notice anything similar? Thanks!

Thanks for watching. To answer your question, yes and no. Yes, when you push the buttons on the clasp, the two pieces that form the clasp, there are some sharp edges as the blocks of titanium are very squared off and defined. There is some sharpness there, but the deployant part that sits against your wrist is pretty smooth, and when it is all closed, you don't feel it at all. I feel this is just how clasps are when the edges are made with such sharp lines. Normally I would mention this, but since I could not feel it when on the wrist, I didn't deem it such a big deal. The underside and edges of the bracelet are not sharp at all, same as the underside of the lugs, and those are places I always check out, as sharpness there can definitely lead to discomfort on the wrist.

@@watchreport Thanks for the reply! Yeah, the bracelet I had was fine in every way except for two corners on the underside of each side of the clasp. I only noticed it when it would scratch my hand when putting the watch on! 😅

I misspoke. The tritium is encapsulated in mineral glass, not plastic. I’ve always referred to it as plastic as that’s what it looks like to me.

Got one! 3000 meters depth. Heavy like hell !

I love the looks of this watch and the thing that worried me are the trit tubes. Sometimes they last forever (breakage) and sometimes some of mine have just broken on other devices though.
Ahhh, plastic! Now it’s gets interesting….
Edit; metals have a kind of “stretch”, over years it could be noticed, Ti is very tough but also “soft”. Steel has less of a stretch than Ti. Using steel for the buckle increases the durability of the clasp.

Super curious about Ball and the Hydrocarbon line... specifically the GMTs - great review!

Love the straigth forward tool look. Much like the Seiko Tunas. BUT, i have a strong dislike towards chunky watches above 15mm in thickness that has thinner lug width like this 21mm and a strap that tapers down to 19mm. Makes it look chunkier and more top heavy than it needs to be.

I still like the first DeepQuest with 3000 meters

Good job. You could be right but I thought tritium vials were in glass not plastic. IDK cheers!

You know what. They could be glass. They have always looked like plastic to me though, and I may have misspoke.

Very impressive. There definitely is a lot here.
I actually have a Ball Fireman NECC. It’s a diver, but not at his level. I think it’s a great watch, the build is great.
This Model here is not for me. It’s more then I would ever want to pay for a watch, and I just can’t like it.

I've never see such a beautiful crown. The more I look at that watch the more I like it.
Titanium always sounds cheap. Please buy another light to help you make your videos. It's way too dark.
