Hola. Espero me leas y respondas
I like the clarity in your tutorial in general, but I am puzzled about the stitch count! You are saying that the first 'sc ch 1' of the row counts as a stitch, but then you are slip stitching into the first hdc, then how are you keeping your st count? Doesn't that make the count 9 instead of 10 at the end of the row, and consequently, you will get 18 stitches at the end of the 2nd row!
Hi! Good question. So the “sc ch 1” does count as a stitch and it is the first stitch of the row. You are right in that it feels weird that u skip it in the beginning, and it feels like a “missed” stitch. However, that is the stitch you go into at the end of the round, therefore it is not skipped. I hope that makes sense☺️. Have you tried it yet?
I keep stuggling with the petals of the flower, i cant seem to get it right no matter how many times i rewatch the video. When i try to close the flower together, it still leaves a gap by the sides
Hi there! Would you be able to send me a video via instagram so I can see what it looks like on your end? You can find me as fibra.collective on Instagram!
What a beautiful pattern 🌼💖, thank you for sharing this. But can i ask you how much yarn do you need to make the flower? Does 1 roll of each color enough to make 4-5 coaster?
Yes good question! Depending on how big the skein is I’d say yes. For example, I bought skeins that were 127.5 grams (or 4.5 oz) in weight, and I had more than enough, and leftovers. I personally made 3 coasters ☺️.
Excuse me, if you don’t mind explaining me the purpose of changing the loop to the back of your work every time you finish a row, it’s just that I don’t understand. Thank you so much.
Super good question! I'll start by saying, I did not come up with the technique - I actually learned it from this video: ua-cam.com/video/wENzhMHl8LM/v-deo.html But in doing it I find that bringing the loop to the back of the work kind of "flattens" it in the very first stitch, making it a more "seamless" looking circle :). Hope that helps!
So, what won’t melt🫣? Whatcha mean “melting”? I did it that way cause i wanted the pot to look and be a bit “tougher”/more structured. But ya you can totally do the whole thing with either yarn, or swap it
Would have been a bit better if there was text showing how many stitches into each row, and maybe if the coaster pattern was easier since this is a beginner tutorial but still good overall❤
No i don’t think it’d be bad! You might have to do more rows of it to make the coaster the right size. That’ll throw off the stitch count for when you start your flower base so you might just have more of those but it should be fine☺️
I didn’t keep track of exactly how much, I’m sorry! But the one you use most of is for the center of the coasters and for the pot, and even then, it’s not very much👀. Depending on how big your skein is, one is enough! (As long as it’s not the super tiny ones)
Is it fine if while I’m doing the green part, one of my clusters of flowers is only 2 instead of 3? because some where along the way I messed up, and the amount of stitches I have aren’t the same as urs.
Do you mean for Row 2 of the Leaves section? Like the spaces you need as the flower base? For that you need 5 spaces so i’m not sure if that’s what you’re referring to. You could send me a message on instagram with photos/videos and i can help u🥰. Find me as @fibra.collective
Good question! So at the beginning of each row, you skip the sc+ch1, however at the end of the same row, that is where you work your final stitches (which is an increase). That's how you keep the stitch numbers consistent ❤️
@@andrea.quinteros thank you for your reply 🤍🫶🏻 can I know what size hook you would recommend for weight 3 acrylic yarn then? Sorry for the question I am still a beginner 😅
@@sarahchang4955 oh no worries! I don’t know exactly if this is gonna work super duper well but you could try a 4.5 mm hook. The thing is if your yarn is thinner and you use a bigger hook, you risk the stitches looking almost “stretched out”, if that makes sense? So ya you don’t want to go too much bigger on the hook size. Also tension is gonna be very important for the overall size of both the coasters and the flowers so make sure your tension is not too lose or tight
Hi Maci, so the first two coasters u place one on top of the other, on top of the pot. The third u have to adjust a bit. You can either place it right on top and kinda squish it in, or fold the circle part twice (into quarters) and then place it on top🥰
Just through the work! For the flowers, along the petals, and for everything else along that same area, so you maintain the colors. If you’re unsure how to do this I’d recommend checking out a youtube tutorial on how to weave in your ends ☺️
@@andrea.quinteros, right now im trying to make the leaf but i cant seem to get the leaf to form looking like yours, mine ends up like a square and i give up , so can i just not make the leaf?

It’s so fun and makes for such a nice gift 😍❤️
Que maravilha! Parabéns!😊
Soy de Venezuela 🇻🇪 👍😍😁
Mucho gusto!! Yo soy de El Salvador🥰
I know u won't believe but I opened UA-cam to search this tutorial ,I didn't not ,it recommended me somehow 🤯 , How is it possible ,,kash me kuch or mang leti ,vo mil jata 😂
NO WAY... hahaha but I do believe it. These things are always listening to us lol. Have fun making it! 🥰
Hola.
Espero me leas y respondas
@andrea.quinteros gracias
Love this! Do you have written pattern?
Thank you❤️ just the video for now!
How many cm wide is the white part?
I keep stuggling with the petals of the flower, i cant seem to get it right no matter how many times i rewatch the video. When i try to close the flower together, it still leaves a gap by the sides
Hi there! Would you be able to send me a video via instagram so I can see what it looks like on your end? You can find me as fibra.collective on Instagram!
trust the process 😂
What a beautiful pattern 🌼💖, thank you for sharing this. But can i ask you how much yarn do you need to make the flower? Does 1 roll of each color enough to make 4-5 coaster?
Yes good question! Depending on how big the skein is I’d say yes. For example, I bought skeins that were 127.5 grams (or 4.5 oz) in weight, and I had more than enough, and leftovers. I personally made 3 coasters ☺️.
Hi! Yes it's Afghan, or size 4 (medium) weight yarn :)
Excuse me, if you don’t mind explaining me the purpose of changing the loop to the back of your work every time you finish a row, it’s just that I don’t understand. Thank you so much.
Super good question! I'll start by saying, I did not come up with the technique - I actually learned it from this video: ua-cam.com/video/wENzhMHl8LM/v-deo.html
But in doing it I find that bringing the loop to the back of the work kind of "flattens" it in the very first stitch, making it a more "seamless" looking circle :). Hope that helps!
I love your flowers and love your beautiful faces ❤😍🥰😘
Thank youuu🥰🌸
hii thank you for the tutorial, what are the dimensions of the coaster?
Hi! It's 11.5 cm without the flower. The flower and its base adds around 4.5 cms
@@andrea.quinterosthank you so much!
Wait how do u thread through the ends after you finish the flowers?
I just went in through random points back and forth, and then cut the yarn!
@@andrea.quinteros thank you 🙏
❤❤❤❤❤❤thanks🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
My pleasure 🥰🌸 have so much fun making it!
I don't see her face
Hi what size hook are you using and is it double wool you are useing ‘ and I like the fact that your nice and slow also useing a lighter colour wool
To demonstrate what you’re doing it makes it easier to see
The materials are listed in the video description 🥰 it's a 4 mm hook. And thanks so much for the feedback!
Hi, thank you so much for the pattern. Can you pls tell what size yarn and hook you had used.
Hi! My pleasure 🥰. All the materials are listed on the description of this video. Have fun making it!!
Honestly the only question I have is why not use cotton for the coasters and acrylic for the pot?? So it won’t melt??
So, what won’t melt🫣? Whatcha mean “melting”? I did it that way cause i wanted the pot to look and be a bit “tougher”/more structured. But ya you can totally do the whole thing with either yarn, or swap it
Would have been a bit better if there was text showing how many stitches into each row, and maybe if the coaster pattern was easier since this is a beginner tutorial but still good overall❤
Thanks for the feedback! Will keep it in mind ❤️
Hi, can i switch the hdc fo sc? Its kinda hard for me i konw its gonna be slightly smaller but, is it gonna ruin it?
No i don’t think it’d be bad! You might have to do more rows of it to make the coaster the right size. That’ll throw off the stitch count for when you start your flower base so you might just have more of those but it should be fine☺️
@@andrea.quinteros aw thank u!!! I'do it then!
@@andrea.quinterosI'm more advanced now and I made it with hdc and it's so much better
Hi ! I was wondering approximately how much I'd need of each yarn to complete it if you could please answer that please ?
I didn’t keep track of exactly how much, I’m sorry! But the one you use most of is for the center of the coasters and for the pot, and even then, it’s not very much👀. Depending on how big your skein is, one is enough! (As long as it’s not the super tiny ones)
@@andrea.quinteros Ah alright thanks, to be honest I was more worried about how much it would take for the flowers as they look quite chunky
@@tyouking3449 they are! But with a normal sized skein you only really need one for all 3 coasters!
Can someone explain how in the second row there is still 20 crochets when the sc+ch1 was skipped at the beginning?
Good question! So at the beginning of each row, you skip the sc+ch1, however at the end of the same row, that is where you work your final stitches (which is an increase). That's how you keep the stitch numbers consistent ❤️
Hi can I use weight 3 acrylic yarn instead?
You could, it might just be smaller, but you could use a slightly bigger hook to compensate☺️
@@andrea.quinteros thank you for your reply ☺️☺️ I’ll try that 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
What did you do of the open ends ? i mean open threads , where did you sew them ?
Just through the flower itself, at random points :)
How do you place the coasters onto the pot? I finished the pattern but it doesn’t look right when I just set them on top
Hi Maci, so the first two coasters u place one on top of the other, on top of the pot. The third u have to adjust a bit. You can either place it right on top and kinda squish it in, or fold the circle part twice (into quarters) and then place it on top🥰
Wait where do we thread in all the extra ends??
Just through the work! For the flowers, along the petals, and for everything else along that same area, so you maintain the colors. If you’re unsure how to do this I’d recommend checking out a youtube tutorial on how to weave in your ends ☺️
Hi! What yarns are you using? :)
For the coasters, acrylic size 4 and for the pot cotton size 4 ☺️. You can find the details on the description of the video too!
What yarn do you use
Hi! It’s listed on the video description ☺️. For the pot i used 100% cotton size 4 and for the coasters, 100% acrylic size 4!
Thanks
،soooooo buteful❤❤❤❤
Thank youuu🥰❤️
What size hook do you use?
it's a 4 mm hook 😊
Do you have a written pattern available anywhere?
I do not at the moment! I find the flower is tough to explain just using words, so a visual is much more helpful ❤️.
I dont understand the top of the pot component... wouldnt you just stuff them in to an open pot?
I wanted a flat surface to lay the coasters to but you can definitely do that too☺️
What size him are you using?
Do you mean hook👀?
Podría ser traducido al español por favor
Hey, how many coasters did u make in total for one pot?
I made 3 ☺️
You lost me when you flipped the coaster when starting the petals lol :(
Did you want to reach out via instagram so I can see what you’re doing and guide you a bit better☺️? It’s @fibra.collective
Hi ! How much yarn did you use?
I didn’t actually keep track of how much I used I’m sorry😅. It’s not very much for the coasters though or for the pot!
but, what if the tea falls on the pot jaja
really lake it❤
Hahahah imagine😅
You can use cotton yarn for coasters. Cotton washes so much better than acrylic 😊
do you have to add the leaf?
You work those right before you make the flower ☺️ directly onto the coaster
@@andrea.quinteros thank you im gonna be looking forward doing this project tomorrow 💞💞!
@@andrea.quinteros, right now im trying to make the leaf but i cant seem to get the leaf to form looking like yours, mine ends up like a square and i give up , so can i just not make the leaf?
@@abbyystarx hmm, maybe could you send me a photo on instagram? My account is @fibra.collective - that way i can see better what you are doing☺️ and see if we can figure out if there is an error
@@andrea.quinteros unfortunately im not allowed to have instagram, but i actually got my mom to help me with the leafs and then i did the rest right after!! other than that your tutorial was amazing and easy to follow!! I finished the project today and im happy on how it turned out, thank you💕!!
for the flower part, my petal will not close 🥲
Hi hi! Send me a video on instagram so I can help you🥰. It’s @fibra.collective
@@andrea.quinteros i was able to figure it out!! 💞
can you please make it slowly?
Hi! You can change the settings of the video to play it at a slower speed. Which part exactly are you struggling with?
@@andrea.quinterosokay thank you. Will do :)
I think 4 rows were enough, 5 is too big.. I'll go with 4 😅
Fair enough! You might have to tweak the leaf part as well since you’ll have less stitches to work with☺️
@@andrea.quinteros yes ma'am will definitely keep that in mind, thanks for reminding hehe💞
