    • @andrea.quinteros
      @andrea.quinteros  6 місяців тому

      @@tammydillo1144 i’d say yes (to a degree!). Which one are you hoping to use?
      I used acrylic for the coasters and cotton for the pot but I could’ve easily used either one of the two yarn types, for all things.
      Ideally you want it to be a size 4!

    Hi from South Africa. I’m so glad I found your tutorial. I tried it out n it turned out beautifully. Where the extra space is I added on a leaf n as I worked I hid the tails under each new row so that there were no tails left to weave in. With the last flower I cut a longer tail n used the yarn to sew closed the bud if the flower. I also used a wooden base n crocheted a shorter pot using T shirt yarn so that the coasters can sit inside it. I used three colours for the flowers 🌺 ❤

  • @SujashaDasgupta
    @SujashaDasgupta 3 місяці тому +1

    I like the clarity in your tutorial in general, but I am puzzled about the stitch count! You are saying that the first 'sc ch 1' of the row counts as a stitch, but then you are slip stitching into the first hdc, then how are you keeping your st count? Doesn't that make the count 9 instead of 10 at the end of the row, and consequently, you will get 18 stitches at the end of the 2nd row!

    • @andrea.quinteros
      @andrea.quinteros  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi! Good question. So the “sc ch 1” does count as a stitch and it is the first stitch of the row.
      You are right in that it feels weird that u skip it in the beginning, and it feels like a “missed” stitch. However, that is the stitch you go into at the end of the round, therefore it is not skipped. I hope that makes sense☺️.
      Have you tried it yet?

    • @andrea.quinteros
      @andrea.quinteros  7 місяців тому +2

      Yes good question! Depending on how big the skein is I’d say yes. For example, I bought skeins that were 127.5 grams (or 4.5 oz) in weight, and I had more than enough, and leftovers. I personally made 3 coasters ☺️.

      Super good question! I'll start by saying, I did not come up with the technique - I actually learned it from this video: ua-cam.com/video/wENzhMHl8LM/v-deo.html
      But in doing it I find that bringing the loop to the back of the work kind of "flattens" it in the very first stitch, making it a more "seamless" looking circle :). Hope that helps!

      No i don’t think it’d be bad! You might have to do more rows of it to make the coaster the right size. That’ll throw off the stitch count for when you start your flower base so you might just have more of those but it should be fine☺️

    • @andrea.quinteros
      @andrea.quinteros  4 місяці тому

      Good question! So at the beginning of each row, you skip the sc+ch1, however at the end of the same row, that is where you work your final stitches (which is an increase). That's how you keep the stitch numbers consistent ❤️

      @@sarahchang4955 oh no worries! I don’t know exactly if this is gonna work super duper well but you could try a 4.5 mm hook. The thing is if your yarn is thinner and you use a bigger hook, you risk the stitches looking almost “stretched out”, if that makes sense? So ya you don’t want to go too much bigger on the hook size.
      Also tension is gonna be very important for the overall size of both the coasters and the flowers so make sure your tension is not too lose or tight

      Hi Maci, so the first two coasters u place one on top of the other, on top of the pot. The third u have to adjust a bit. You can either place it right on top and kinda squish it in, or fold the circle part twice (into quarters) and then place it on top🥰
