Agreed. Her mental game in particular is superior. She never expresses defeat, fatigue, or responds to reporters trying to find a fault or weakness. Love that.
Young lady, Parker, I am so incredibly proud of the effort you put in today. My poor, blind kitty, was confused why I was (almost) shouting “Go Parker Go!” I’m impressed with your poise, and I wish to recognize the grace you show by patiently answering questions so soon after such a race! Congratulations and enjoy Paris!
Final 2000m averaged 69.958 per lap, which is 14:34.5 5000m pace. She just keeps getting better. There's only so much anyone can do in 13 months (since last year's SEC outdoor conference meet) of being healthy, but she's made the most of it. It's kind of mind boggling what Parker might be able to do in the next few years.
Finished 11th in the Olympics 10K, that's a truly a performance. She ran perfectly by staying in the lead group until the last moment. And even showed up in lead position until the sprint started. So amazing!!!
I just love this woman; she has got talent, work ethic, and courage! (and she's pretty) 😊 She's going to Paris and she'll represent well. Best of luck to her and the rest of the excellent American team!
The American track and field athletes are so classy it’s great gives you pride that this country still has tough gritty young people and give congratulations to the producers of this event they are great awesome job
Speaks strongly of the distance/XC world. Millions of young women in America today are far down the wrong path and NONE of them participated in this great sport I'd imagine.

Does she get to go to Paris? Her best in the last year is about 10 seconds outside the Olympic qualifier time (30:40), I'll hate to see her have to run another 10K in the next few weeks to qualify. Anyway, great race by all the gals.
You can get in on world ranking if there are not enough automatic qualifiers. There is most likely not going to be enough auto-qualifiers so they told her she's most likely ranked high enough
There’s not enough women with 30:40 time qualifiers so instead of having less people in the Olympics they are just going to move the time back. Not sure what time they are going to move it back to, but Parker should be good.
The Olympic schedule has the 1500m and the 5k very close together. Elle said she likely wouldn’t do both and would want to focus on the 1500m which is her better event. So Parker is the next in line if one of the others decides not to run in the 5k - she hit the standard and was 4th place.
@@spencerj6557 Olympics is much more competitive. It isn’t worth tiring yourself through 5k and 1500m heats and make the final but be too tired to have a shot at medaling in either. St. Pierre has a much better shot to medal in the 1500m (she’s only a few seconds behind the world lead). She did both in trials because she is a top 3 talent in both events in the US. 5k trials came first on the schedule (5k final was before Rd1 of 1500m), so she guaranteed a trip to Paris in the 5k, but now she will focus on the 1500m. If for some reason something catastrophic were to happen (like Athing Mu) in the 1500m, she still has an Olympic bid in the 5k.

It seems she has people caring for her best interest. People who helping her stay healthy. Who help her run the race she wants to run.
If you make me run a race like that, you will have to carry me out in a stretcher at the end of the race, much less be able to talk in an interview and answer questions like this girl does. Amazing stamina
I'm older than that and feel fortunate I got to see her run in person at the NCAA finals here in Austin last year. It was her first national title. She set a record for the track stadium here at U. Texas. I've followed her closely since that. She's can be very funny. She totally won me a few months ago when she said that their running round and round on the track made them like "hamsters."
Parker Valby is a good runner and a charming young lady, but she is years away from being world class at 5km and 10km. To get close to someone like Beatrice Chebet, Valby needs to run about 50 seconds faster in the 5km (4 seconds per lap) and almost 2 mins faster (sub 29 mins) for 10 km. Forget Paris - she will have a hard time doing that by the 2028 Olympics. She should aim for 2032.
Injured and not doping. Hopefully Katelyn sees this farce, realizes this is a dirty sport, and that being a pro requires compromise. Otherwise she will watch less talent dope cheats still her spotlight.
She basically ran that whole race 1 body length off the inside line so she basically ran 100 yards more than the girl that won Eg lane 2 is 660 feet longer than lane 1 over 25 laps Her couch needs to tell her to get on that inside line and stay there The girl that won ran the whole race on the inside line She needs a new coach
Congrats Parker, very fun to watch and excellent competitor! Wish you the best in Paris

She is a ray of sunshine. Gives great interviews and seems to really have her head on straight and super solid mentally.

I have considered that Parker Valby and Keely Hodgkinson have a similar keen look in their eyes. The Eye of the Tigress!
