Hi Allie, I am so pleased to hear you made it through to the final. In fact I feel really proud to ‘know’ you on social media. You got a lot of attention from the press which you handled really well, I thought, coming over as well thought through, well balanced, intelligent and extremely articulate. Best of British, as we say here across the pond, for the final in a few days. I wish I could get access to watch you run. ❤
I’m so proud of you young lady. ED Survivor here as well, thank you for being such an awesome role model. By the way, my cat thought I’d lost my mind with my “Come on Allie!” Chant.
@@veganpotterthevegan she was taking an acne medication, prescribed by her dermatologist, as her hormones were balancing during ED recovery. Spironolactone is very commonly prescribed for acne. But it is indeed banned by WADA as it has been used to mask the effects of PEDs (which she has never tested positive for). Allie admitted she didn’t research enough to realize that and promptly stopped taking it thereafter. And she accepted and served her four-month sanction. Despite not ever testing positive for anything that actually enhances performance. So what else is there to say about it?
@runner4life551 fully aware of the story. Also, it's a great masking agent and there are other acne medications that are fully legal. *She tested positive for something that enhances performance. It's also a diuretic which is often used by athletes for performance gains.
She is so inspiring. Life isn't easy. We all have our struggles. The way she shares herself. She's making a huge difference. AND ... Spence is pretty cool too. Local legend keeping the rest of us going. And David Roche ... such a positive person. What a great team.
W-A-Y-2-G-0!!! Allies' interviews have become like her racing - Must See TV!!! So Articulate; So Relatable & Trustworthy. Somebody get this woman a Broadcasting Gig - Please.
So stoked for you Allie!! I've been a fan since we competed far apart while you were at Kenai at 'met' a few times at some bigger high school meets. I appreciate your genuineness and your strength to be open about your journey. Keep crushing it and have fun in the process! 💪🏔️🫎
i had an easting disorder, no periods, 400-800kcsls a day for like 8 months. i didnt experience any long-term damage though. running is what cured it tbh as i wanted energy to run. an event that happened 13 years ago doesn't cross my mind these days
Congratulations Ali and coach and team. First the first time I was able to watch you do the steeplechase and I have a couple of small suggestions. Please read this with your coach to get that kind of approval. You are a hurdler or have become one. Do you wanna race like a fart like; slow speed up slow down or after the over the after the barrier speed up. That is not a very efficient way to run and it can be improved dramatically with one simple adjustment. Pick up speed in your three steps prior to every barrier and every water jump. This comes from practical experience at an international level and it works. It's like part like as well**** it doesn't take that much energy to pick up the tempo slightly. You are so close my dear two shocking everyone as well as yourself. Congratulations and I am gonna be very excited to watch your final. Good luck. And as I walk away from any international level athlete that I have coached here is my final words of wisdom- "Remember, just don't screw up!" I believe you can make the team. Hehe.
This is why I love Allie. I'm really happy to "know" her on UA-cam. She's such a genuine person, and I love that she talked about her eating disorder because I know that it affects a lot of people, and she has helped a lot of people by talking about it. Love her ❤❤❤
Allie is a great spokesperson for eating disorders and mental health in general. The stigma needs to stop so people can get support and treatment. The mindset of 'no shortcuts" and being emotionally and physically healthy is only way to be an elite athlete with longevity.
Just watched the race on television. Following Allie on YT really made it much more interesting and fun to watch. I was really concerned that her water jumps were loosing her time but she powered through.
Allie had the strength and speed to catch the leading 5 with 2 laps to go and then push on - fantastic race................. Wish her the best for the final

Great of her to speak out about ED awareness and her recovery! Good luck in the finals Allie 👏
Its also a great way to keep people from addressing her suspension she got a slap on the wrist for.

@@veganpotterthevegan she tested positive for a masking agent so still illegal under WADA but not technically a PED
Me once I had free time at EOD: INSTANTLY CHECKS 3000M SC and sees Allie O’s results ❤❤❤❤ GOO Allie in the final!!!

Totally agree. No pat answers or cliches from her, and she deftly turned around the weird question implying her apparel sponsorship is burdensome.
I AM STOKED !! I was screaming my head off watching you run. I swear I could hear Spencer screaming too. Congratulations!!!!
You're the best, Allie! We'll be rooting for you on Thursday! 🇺🇸🥇🏆

Possible if the final goes out very slowly but highly unlikely.
