Karissa’s win was impressive for a 5k/10k runner. Josh looked strong and fast for his last race of the season.

Maybe next year NB will put a gag order on all competitors sponsored by other brands… and this shell be known as “Kerr rule”😂

The day I started wearing Brooks fastest and lightest road shoes, was the beginning of the end for all the leg ailments that had plagued me for years. And it marked an era for me of longer and faster running. Thanks to Brooks and to the late Jerry Turner, who brought that about during the time he owned and ran the company.

@@DrProfX I can't see how they could realistically do that other than simply not interviewing him or not allowing him to compete.

The shoes can make a difference, which is why there are regulations now focused on foam structures and the foam height.
Kerr is the elite of the elite, so his winning this race isn't the shoes.
He could've worn New Balance or Hoka or Altra and still would've smoked everyone.
I will say though that his shoe plug was definitely a win for Brooks. Their Beast shoes are good shoes. The plug was no doubt a coup for Brooks and an ideal venue for this type of advertising opportunity.
Also, Kerr is being paid but he also has integrity. He is a straight shooter. I think he plugged the shoes because he is confident in them. He trains in Brooks spikes and foam.
Personally, I prefer Altra because I have wide feet, huge feet actually. I wear a 13w or 14. Altra are not necessarily the most durable but the toe box couldn't be better for my toes.

So many great middle distance runners in this race! Stacked field. Elle St. Pierre, Corey McGee, Sage Huerta-Klecker, and Hiltz would've all been contenders to see in this race but they were absent.
Still, this field was freaking loaded. Karissa is a monster right now, very versatile, just hungry to race. She is strong asf.

Much more exciting to have it on the road and you get more spectators and it’s an iconic event that’s been going on for a while. 5th avenue is very nice and also iconic right next to Central Park. It’s good to do road races as well because they’re more difficult to pace and the surface is different which can benefit or disadvantage some runners so it’s good to have some diversity.

      Kerr chose the race.
He explained he struggles to get up for diamond league format as he focuses on championship races.
Basically he said his body/mind can't keep the consistency needed to win diamond league out right but he can win golds at the races which matters most.
