Now this is how you make the perfect Kool-aid, or at least the perfect way I like it! XD
1 Cup of sugar
9 1/2 Cups of cold water
1 Package of any type of Kool-aid
Stir for about 1 min and drink :D

I remember doing that in my youth too! It's like back in the day you needed 3 packets just to taste it! But now one is more than enough. I almost wonder if they changed the formula to make it more potent :D

Just bought this from the candy shop yesterday. I made it in a glass bottle of 500ml calypso and filled the empty bag of kool aid 3 times with sugar and poured it in. It tastes really good

Lol, I get that. It is a fun splurg for the taste buds though, and when you look at the grams, it's actually a little less than a can of soda per cup, it just looks scary when you add that much yourself :D

anniethree oh my gosh that’s what I’ve been doing wrong my 18-year-old sister and I have been trying to make it and we always put water and a Kool-Aid packet in it and stir in the first time we did this we put a whole pack of that in 1 cup of water just imagine how bad that tasted then try to add more water to it I’ve been wondering what the heck we need to add to it this will be maybe our fifth try

I might have to try that! Like you, my favorite flavor also is Berry Blue. I usually make it the way the instructions say, except I do a half cup of sugar instead of a full cup. My mom made it that way when I was growing up, and that's the way I wound up liking it as an adult. I tried it with the full cup once...never again...blech!! lol Thanks for the upload! 👍🏻❤️

No joke. For 12 days I drank 1 paket in 1 glass of water with no sugar and I will say this ONCE. Don't do that. I went crazy after drinking a glass. I didn't know what the quantity of water should have been. I regret everything😂

That's a great idea! The thing is I only use one pack now. lol I wasn't poor, but I do remember having that same dilemma as a child...can't remember if I mixed or went without. XD I'm starting to think that they made Kool Aid weaker back then.

I've never had koolaid b/c my grandma never let us drank it. She said, if you can dye your hair w/it (which a lot of the kids used to dye their hair w/koolaid packs) she said then you don't need to drink it. Instead we used to drink Crystal Light. 😕

My favorite flavor, but for me, I have to use a glass filled with ice cubes, and refrigerate kool-aid for a whole day. I can't stop drinking it!!!
That's the best way! But then I get impatient and drink it soon after making it. Lol
I was always told to start with the hottest tap water possible bc it dissolves the sugar & Kool-Aid Faster! What I do is fill up the 1st half gallon w/ the hottest it gets tap water I str it up real good then I add the next half gallon in ice & I let it melt as a stir if need be I put more hot water on top of the ice to speed up the process!
Me too. I don't know how I've been getting away with using cold, because hot was always used when I was a kid, yet now cold works for me. Thank you for the advice!

we added cold water first, then we used 4 table spoon amount of kool aid, we added 1/4 of a cup of sugar and it tasted like flavored dog water from India

My mother always boiled 2 cups of water with a cup of sugar, to make the sugar dissolve. (Just like sweet tea.)
Oh wow, that brought back memories. I remember us doing that when I was a kid, but it was for Jello, instead of koolaid. We would boil the jello mix and then put it in the fridge to cool and congeal. 😊

I have to respectfully disagree with your method. I’m from the south and all southerners can at least agree on one thing. You can’t start good sweet tea with cold water, you have to dissolve the sugar in hot water. So respectfully, the best kool aid recipie (I agree blueberry lemonade is the best flavor) starts with 1 scant cup sugar, 1packet mix (rinsed to get all the flavor out), 3 cups HOT water, mix til sugar is dissolved. Fill the container with ice and remaining 5 cups water. On those hot days I use an emursion blender to crush the ice .

As an Australian Kool Aid confused the fuck out of me at the start, I made the mistake of dumping half the packet into one cup thinking it already had sugar added in and it did fucking not. tasted like absolute shit but now i know thanks your video, but i still don't understand why its so hard for the manufacturer to just add some sugar in themselves
