A complete driving cycle can be done in under fifteen minutes. ... To perform an OBDII Driving cycle do the following: Cold Start. ... Idle. ... Accelerate. ... Hold Steady Speed. ... Decelerate. ... good advice probably ignored, ecus need driving cycles across the ranges to recalibrate, especially when sensors are old/damaged. I think buying a car with complex electronics without service/maintenance equipment to fully support it is a bit of a fools game.
Of course not. It was sent to auction because of THE MASSIVE UNDERCARRIAGE DAMAGE. I know it just looked like a bit of ripped fiberglass ... but any undercarriage/frame damage quickly gains the potential of being a salvage.

Respect from Germany to try to repair a Ferrari which was not really in a good shape before it came to u. Ferrari electric is very special like every Italian car (except Lamborghini. It's more an Audi than a Ferrari if u know what I mean ;)
the car runs fine, but the dodgy immobiliser is making it run rough as hell, it stops you starting the car just like it wouldn't let you go into the gear, remove that immobiliser and you have a working 360 which you can fix the dents on, don't throw it!
Hi, I stumbled on to your site and it grabbed my attention right from the start. I used to work on cars in my younger days thought I'm too old and crippled up to do much anymore. I'm quite impressed with your knowledge of cars. I will be watching more later. I'm anxious to see if you figure out that Ferrari electrical problem. Those can be tricky.
Sam, If you think you have a loose ground somewhere try running a temporary ground wire from the battery to the engine, a second ground wire from the battery to the ECM mounting Screws, and so on. If there is a bad ground it should be bypassed and hopefully run as normal. Then you can either look for the bad connection or move on.
The reason why it runs rough is because jump starting the battery multiple times can cause to burn out the ECU's and especially the transmission ECU. I learned it the hard way. And starting it on and off will constantly will also run make the ECU's talk to each other. Never do that to any type of car or in italian car in general. 360 came in manual or F1. F1 transmission in the 360 works the faster you go the fast it shifts and its single clutch F1 trans. Also its a Lambo Gallardo ?
You're a moron... ECU is just.an electronic circuit it doesn't magically get damaged from a jump start and it doesn't fix itself when the battery is reconnected
@@1DEADBEEF1 as you said a circuit board....now in my former 360 it turned out a resistor was going bad in my ECU and I jumped it so many time because of my neglect. That was the cause for my ECU to fail. When jump starting it, it would be fine but after turning the car off and leaving it for a few hours or mins it would give me similiar or different issue. The ECU is just another big circuit board that hold other circuits and let them communicate with each other.
@BPwhistleblower first italian electronics aren't good as they are today but even today some would go in limp mode....but imagine im shocking you with 12v.....you would react to it because you felt it....now imagine you are shocked by 12v but you don't give a constant reaction...thats what happening in the ECU
You guys throughout America seem lucky to be able to do this to your cars (repair them). Here in Australia essentially anything more than a scratch and the car is impossible to get back on the road.. sucks because there is nothing I would like to do more than to rebuild older cars..
@@CheapBastard1988 That's why I like Ferrari more, real Italian cars not an Audi in a tuxedo, although the 2020 Ferraris seem to not have any life and soul to the exhaust note. Lamborghini haven't been Italian for a while now, it's a German engineering.
@@hi-fidude6670 Well one brand does it better than the other but I do think VAG is really bad at keeping the soul of the brand alive. Smaller Audi's (like A1, A2, A3 and A4) and Audi SUV's are VW's with a suit on, Bentleys are VW Phaetons with expensive jewellery and Lambo's are indeed typical Audi's with their party suits on. If they didn't have the Aventador, the brand would be dead. Porsche thankfully is still their stubborn old self but that may be because VAG isn't the full owner. BMW does better IMO with Rolls Royce. The Phantom is bespoke and the Ghost is based on a BMW 7 series, but they made it a very different car for a different kind of person. Mini was given a whole new lease of life by BMW (even though they got a bit too big). Just a shame they gave the Mini a crap, badly engineered (by BMW), made in France by PSA (Peugeot) engine. I think Ford did OK with Volvo and Mazda back in the day. Even though they made a combined platform, they managed to keep the identity of the 3 different brands alive. Mainly through the styling, interior and handling but also with bespoke engines on some models and different tuning on others. With Jaguar they did OK with the XK, XF and XJ but with the X-type they went too far and made it too much like the Ford Mondeo it was based on. Aston Martin kept its identity well under Ford but did lack innovation especially in the gearbox department. But also the 6.0 V12 engines being basically two Ford Mondeo 3.0 V6 engines combined in a single block was a good beginning, but they kept doing it for way too long. Glad Aston now uses a lot of Mercedes tech. GM truly ruined Saab with their decision make Saab a more expensive Opel Vectra, even though Saab had great engineering and QC while the Vectra is a barfed up dogs breakfast of a car. They let Saab go bust and sold Opel to PSA. Renault completely destroyed AMC and kept nothing left. However Nissan is doing pretty well under them and they still have their iconic Fairlady Z and GTR models. I would just like to see a comeback of the SX models to the western market with LHD models.
Not a Ferrari owner but I have a M5 with a SMG, the slow shifts at low throttle are normal. Once you get on it and shift near redline you'll feel what it really can shift like. But they do the sluggish shifts at low throttle to avoid jarring the passengers. It's pretty much the same with all sequential manual single clutch transmissions (including the Aventador).
just install an inline switch off the positive side of the battery that way every time you start it just flick the switch on and off no more problems :)
Shift delay is normal. As more agresivelly you press a pedal, and obtain more revs, that faster it will shift. If you pressit to 8000, it will shift up automatically , andvery fast. Slow drive, slow shift. Agresive drive, faster shift.
Why clean the inside if there is still more work to be done. That's like whipping your ass before you shit. Don't make any sense. Right? The cleaning will come after the job is done.
I use purple power on oil that gets on the exhaust and it removes it quickly once the exhaust is warm. Good luck with the electrical gremlins, I wager it is an ECU, ECM or BCM issue

@@sherischneider2672 I watched the video and went through the comment section. I had a similar issue on a car (domestic) I purchased from an auction that was causing a parasitic draw. After going through multiple resets of the BCM I ended up tracing multiple circuits down thinking it was a bad or stuck contact in a relay. It turned out to be a faulty diode in the BCM. This was due the car sitting a long time in the auction yard, the battery drained down and the car was jumped with a jump box to move it before I picked it up. Electrical issues can be easy or very tedious, I have delt with plenty of both from the classic cars to the new vehicles I work on.
My daughters car burned down because of an oil leaking issue. That and a damn chipmonk decided the wiring harness tasted like nuts or something. Eather way, smoking oil is NOT GOOD. Typical Sam Cracked.
Its not oil dripping onto the exhaust. In the last ferrari video he over filled the oil and it spilled everywhere and i assume that i got onto the exhaust pipe when it did spill. Not that big of a deal because it wasnt leaking oil, just a residue
Oil level can only be checked when the engine is warm. Key in turn two positions to RUN position then press immobilizer. Pull both paddles and get a neutral before starting or it will cut out as part of anti-theft system. Smoke is probably left over oil spilled on the exhaust. Automatic mode is locked in if you have a problem or you didn't disengage it.

The gear shits will also be slow depending on what setting you have on, or how fast you are going. Usually an auto setting will shift in a speed dependent on how fast you are going, again to protect itself. No need to do race speed shifting when you're tootling around town.

good advice probably ignored, ecus need driving cycles across the ranges to recalibrate, especially when sensors are old/damaged. I think buying a car with complex electronics without service/maintenance equipment to fully support it is a bit of a fools game.
This is the immobilizer. Replace it, replace the relay, and go have a fun drive.
Martin Bogomolni i highly doubt it was sent to auction only because of a immobilizer / relay
Of course not. It was sent to auction because of THE MASSIVE UNDERCARRIAGE DAMAGE. I know it just looked like a bit of ripped fiberglass ... but any undercarriage/frame damage quickly gains the potential of being a salvage.

PS I can excuse him for not checking and filling the oil properly since the manual is in a foreign language and I have seen that happen on so many automatic transmissions in automobiles and heavy construction equipment.

I've had this happen multiple times with many of my own used cars over the years.
It not the immobilizer, it is the ECU need to be programmed and a switch hidden to do so.
There is a switch in the front compartment on the left pretty much the upper left hand corner of the front compartment (under the front hood) (when standing looking at the car). Turn it off, wait about 5 or 10 minutes, then turn it back on. That will clear any data stored in the ECU's. Make sure you do this when the car is cold.
It is very important you don't turn engine on and drive it. After the SW is turned on, put the key in the ignition On position (no engine running) and give your car some time to do its own thing (do not touch any thing) Then after all that and you waited a few minutes with no engine running. Turn it off and then back on and let it run for a few minutes, this will likely resolve you issue. I fixed one same exact issue, it happens when battery goes to low, or dead, ECU data gets corrupted and need to relearn.

My '92 Ranger doesn't rattle like that...
0:20 was expecting you to say “the good news” guess that’s what happens with a ferrari🤷🏽♂️
If the ECUs were burned out (whatever that means), the car wouldn't run perfectly after the battery is reconnected. It wouldn't run at all.
