This gives me motivation to chase my goals for this 2025 indoor/outdoor seasons!!! Chasing that sub 22 200m dream, currently at 22.40 indoors from last Dec and 22.58 into a -1.5 headwind lol while studying and working of course !!!
I watched the full video and i can understand why you emphasize more on "listen to your body". For an athlete like you the most precious thing you have is your body..❤❤❤
listen to your body that's what i struggle with as I'm new to athletics being 7 months in now and i pb at 10.75 then I chasing times while i was running injured but now i have seen you stop racing when you know you are not fully fit. That's defo a thing i have to implement
Great video. Distance runners can sometimes battle through the odd niggle, but when you're competing at your level, with the amount of stress on the body, any little fault can be potentially disastrous. Will be interested to see what sprinters do through the winter months.
For sure with the sprints there’s too much force going through the body to run through these things without making it worse, so had to make the call. Resting up and ready to get back to it!
Yo Joe, I am a 23.6 200m runner at age 15 and i was just wondering if u could make a video on how to run the 200m because some people say that u go flat out the whole way while other people say u build up the pace. Its fine if u cant
100 & 200 in one meeting can be very stressful. For small injuries, diclofenac gel and a massage gun 3 times per day helps me for quick recovery. Some say the SP3 lacks heel support; have you notice this too?
Doubling up is always a task but it’s something I like to get used to as it helps with championship round running. I only ran a couple of meets in the SP3 this year so don’t have a comprehensive review on them as of yet, but the time I spent using them this year I found them to be pretty good, maybe slightly less heel support than the sp2 but not enough to feel any difference whilst running
Hi im pretty new to sprinting and i really enjoy watching your vids. rn my 100 pb is only 12.00 and i was wondering how many hours a week i should spend in the gym to get faster cuz im pretty weak at lifting
That’s a great PB to start with! I currently do up to 3X gym sessions per week so around 5 hours, it depends on your age as I started out with 1X session when I was around 15/16 and gradually built my way up
Can I recommend you get in touch with Rolf Ohman, he is a genius in S&C, he has a very modern take on strength training (trained Su for strength in china). In my view your strength training could be improved a lot, especially in regards to injury prevention. Rolf coaches a Tasmanian (Australia) elite by correspondence, I'm sure he'd love to chat with you.

100% it’s the most important!

That’s a very solid PB, for sure knowing when to protect your body is such an important thing, and it’ll take you to the next level in the long run!
The best videos every time 🔥❤️🔥
❤️🔥
love this video style, very helpful and insightful to a fellow sprinter. keep up the content and hope that heel feels better!
Thanks for the feedback, I’m glad you enjoy this style of video! Will be posting more like this alongside the vlogs going forward. Much appreciated 🙌🏼

Great running, that’s pretty similar to me at 15! I’m actually already looking into this video so hopefully you’ll see it some time soon
@@joeferguson200Alr thanks man ive been looking pretty good this season which is my first and im nearly pbing every race so im on track

Keep working hard, you’re doing great! I’ll look into making this video
Nice
🤝
Another very helpful video, thanks! Best of luck for winter training and indoor season, are you planning on doing another 200m indoor or mainly 60's?
I’m glad you enjoyed! Thanks a lot🙏🏼 we haven’t got the indoor season planned yet so not sure, but maybe a bit of both
For me I also struggle around the curve/bend and Im working to push through it as much as possible
It’s definitely a skill to run the turn, I think being able to push for as long as possible before cruising is key
@@joeferguson200Yep trying to be the fastest in my high school track and field team
🔥
🙌🏼
Could you do a video detailing warmup and sprint drills?
I’m already looking into this!

Hey man,can you make a video of your daily routine?
I’ll have a look into making this happen!

My current coach plans my S&C, but I may do a bit of research into his philosophy and see if there’s anything that I can look at implementing
@@joeferguson200 you can find a lot of podcasters interviewing him online :)
hey man i ran 200m in 23.9s in grass track can you predict my time in synthenic track
It’s hard to predict exactly but I think you’ll gain at least half a second, you could be looking at low 23, great work!
Does anyone maybe have tips to mentally prepare myself for the nationals
Have faith in yourself, trust all the hard work you’ve put in and remember to enjoy yourself out there, it’s time to put on a show🔥
@@joeferguson200 thx man
what was your pb in the 200 when you were 16?
My quickest age 16 was 22.1
How do you even get into sprinting😂
I went down to my local track when I was 13 with a friend just to do a training session, joined a group and just went from there
