The Astros were originally called the Houston Colt .45s, but changed their name when they moved into the Astrodome (whose name was inspired by Houston’s role in the space program, as mentioned in the video).
Clover Park, spring training home of the New York Mets, has its outfield dimensions identical to old Shea Stadium (338 feet down both LF and RF lines, 371 in left-center and right-center, and 410 feet towards dead CF).
This soundtrack is lacking. What happened to the 2 songs that were in regular rotation?? Love your vids..👍✌️that Track at the end, there is! Love your vids, specially the college football videos. I watch them often!
In 1995, when the Players Strike was ongoing, MLB was considering using replacement players. This caused a major problem for the Toronto Blue Jays. The provincial government had a law banning replacement workers from crossing the picket lines and this included the Blue Jays. The only place being considered was to have the Blue Jays playing their 'Home' games at Dunedin. Florida almost had two MLB teams before the (Devil) Rays started in 1998.
Interesting when you consider that the Jays played regular season home games in 2020/2021 in both Dunedin and Buffalo due to Covid border restrictions. It was cool to see Buffalo get MLB games as the ballpark was built for a potential expansion to MLB size.
The Yankees' facility predates the current building that calls itself Yankee Stadium, so if anything the soulless, sterile look of what was originally called Legends Field inspired the new regular stadium. Either way, though, that's a perfect description of both. The old Yankee Stadium was dated, but a little less dull.
I gotta be honest, why do the Marlins; Rays and D-backs even need spring training venues when they, themselves, play in the host states for the Cactus & Grapefruit Leagues. Better off using your own stadiums

Fun fact - the Tigers have done spring training in Lakeland since 1934, the longest relationship between a team and its winter home in MLB.

Since the renovations probably the best of the Grapefruit League Stadiums!

Went to my first baseball game at Hammond to see the at the time Ft. Myers Miracle, nice little ballpark.
So great to see all the stadiums I love to visit.
2:25 The RED Sox practice in jetBLUE Park. Odd if you think about it. Surprise he didn't make a snarky joke about it.
Can you do a video of All South Florida Stadiums/arenas? Includes Professional and collegiate sports
CoolToday Park is also built to replicate the dimensions of Truist Park in Atlanta, like with the Cubs and Red Sox
Could you make a playlist of collegiate stadiums? Like all the college basketball, football, and hockey arenas in one playlist.
I miss going to see Marlins and Expos spring training at Space Coast Stadium.
I absolutely love your videos bud!
Cheers!
I really like the LECOM Park in Bradenton that Pittsburgh plays at. Most of these look pretty sterile but that one is a beauty.
lol just went yesterday cause i’ve never been and it was very nice. They added a whole boardwalk to the outfield not too long ago so that was nice
@@kennyjordan9325 Nice I hope you had a good time. I'm not a baseball fan but its a fun experience to watch live. I'd go to that park for sure.
I miss when the Cardinals used to train at Al Lang Field in St. Petersburg.
Be thankful it's still standing as the home of the ⚽ Rowdies.
Braves had a nice stadium at Disney before moving south to their new stadium. Seems they always had a nice stadium for ST.
The first 5 seconds were totally worth the watch. 😀
The Ray's are now in Tropicana Field due to Hurricane Ian demolishing their Spring training park in Port Charlotte!

Another banger of a video!
Spring training ballparks are so cool. I prefer the Cactus League ballparks but as a Red Sox fan I have a special bias towards jet blue
Don't you find it odd your RED Sox play in jet BLUE?
@@TheMrPeteChannel that’s actually why their city connect jerseys have blue socks
Another great video with wonderful puns. Keep 'em coming, mate. Sorry
Miami isn’t the only team that goes north for Spring Training. The San Diego Padres spring training in Peoria AZ is slightly north of San Diego.
Uhmmmm. They are mainly going east.
Nice!
I am going next week...where can I find the time frames of when practices are happening? Don't see anything on the website of the Yankees for example

IPL 2023 Stadiums : ua-cam.com/video/JKK9OIWftPE/v-deo.html
Please do American Rugby stadiums. They do exhist.
Do the ECHL. Please. With Vegemite on top.

Might you consider an NHL update given the Arizona Coyotes new home?
Pecos League soon?

It'll always be McKechnie Field to me. Let's Go Bucs!
Come on. Where is the Slovenian Football league?
What like all 4 of them!
@@TheMrPeteChannel No, only the first. The other leagues are sh*t.
