Watched this video. Then played today, repeated the mantra “keep your head down’ before every shot, and took one more club than usual and swung easy. Result, my best round in years, a 78. Would have shot my age but for one ridiculous 4 putt. Thank you Jimmy Tropicana! I’ve been spreading your gospel.

A concept stressed by Bobby Lopez he calls staying onside during the swing. This means not allowing your front shoulder from crossing an invisible vertical line. It’s fine to rotate your head and follow the ball. Annika Sorenstam and Henrik Stenson both release before they strike the ball and they do pretty well. But they don’t go offside.

Hey Jimmy just subscribed to your channel. I love your banter and the way you shoot straight without a bunch of minutia that others do. Please don't start hawking swing plane or wrist devices, or no fail chippers, etc. Just keep bringing it the way you do. Love it brother! By the way you play on some pretty marginal courses bro. LOL That's one of the reasons your content is great, it's not all entitled little brats who had homes on country club courses. Keep up the great work!

Jimmy, I just discovered your videos. They are really great. You keep it simple and don’t complicate the swing. Then you demonstrate in real time that what you’re saying works. I’m going to follow your advice on the practice tee and the course and see if I can make it work for me. Keep the videos coming.

A Golf Club Community like Tropicana Golf would have suited me for sure.
If ever I get over to California I will certainly look into getting there.

100%. The very small head tilt raises shoulder n messes evwrything up. I his the straightest 6i in my life. Dont know y but i kept my head down n was shocked. Also adapted the same.in putting. As weird as it feels i dont look up when i pit n ive been rolling it dead straight.

I really appreciate your content! I took your advice yesterday during putting, and it really improved my putting! I had been pulling too many of my putts (with a L.A.B. Putter no less! lol) and your advice was just what I needed. Thank you! Keep up the great work!

I was so curious about your putter recommendation (Wilson 8802) that I purchased one for $75.00 (it is actually a Wilson 8813 with the only difference is that the 8813 has line markers on it). I absolutely LOVE this putter! However, I am wondering if I might like a different grip such as a medium Super stroke? Was curious if you had changed out the grip on your putter? Thanks for any advice.@@TropicanaEntertainment

I tell myself to death stare at the ball or to have a staring contest with the ball and it actually really helps because the intent is different than just trying to remember to keep your head still.

Dude, I love your channel! Just found you but have already watched 6 or 8 vids in the last 2 days. Crazy how safe you play and score so well! Plus I don’t even see you ever use a range finder?! Your course is so narrow you could put 3 of your holes side by side on any hole on my course!lol😂Where are you? and would you mind telling us about yourself… job or golf pro etc???
Thanks for what you are doing!! 👍👍👍

If it helps you at all, one thing I do for putts that are fairly short...and need to be really accurate and sensitive...is extend my arms...and essentially make the putt with my shoulders, rather than moving my arms significantly. I find the control is so much better and more sensitive...for short putts. If you get nervous at all, like I do, the shoulders are very steady, compared to using arms and hands.

  • @faroutgolf3650

Jimmy you talk about head movement. Well, Jack Nicklaus old time coach Jack Grout would grab Jack Nicklaus by the hair and make him stop moving his head around!

Sandy soil helps grass run. Sand lacks nutrients that soil holds, but dirt dries out in the sun and gets too hard to let grass grow easily. That’s what a driving range guy told me.

  • @vintageswiss9096
    @vintageswiss9096 8 місяців тому +1

@5:00 - not really much to do with the roots...
It's because soil doesnt level, it sinks. You cant use dirt and seed to fill a divot because it will turn into a small crater later in the year.
The sand gives a pre-leveled surface for the sod strips to be laid over when the maintenance crew does repairs. (As well as the next golfer not landing in your hole... giggity)
Same reason they level greens with sand...

Quick question. You show examples of bringing your club to a certain height, but when you swing, you're at the top of your shoulders. Probably overthinking your swing comment. Thanks. Loving the videos.

I see you have a 5 handicap, I'm on 25 h'cap, how can I possibly hit a 5 iron 200 yds, I'm lucky to get it 150 yds. So off the tee if I don't feel comfortable using my woods, so I'm confused what I should be using off the tee on say a par 4-5.

Yesterday I was hitting practice balls. And I did forget about keeping my head down on the ball? As soon as I hit it. Off to the right. Off to the left. Slowed everything down and I kept my head down eyes on my hitting spot. Straight and long. Funny how you can forget the simple things?🙄😉😉😉😉

That is a factor but the head is really the main takeaway. I dont want people reaching for the ball
