Water leak diagnosis 03 ford escape mazda tribute sunroof?

It starts with a musty odor and usually a wet carpet but in my case water goes under carpet into the jute, carpet underlayer which is the awful odor. Water leaks are typically sunroofs,drains,windshields,plugged drains for heater/ a/c box and body seams from prior accident damage. I suspect my sunroof as it hasn't worked in 2 years and sealing isn't perfect without power to it.
