Can skyroot compete with newspace ? As newspace is developing reusable rockets for small satellites which will be cheaper than current sslvs and do you think NSIL will provide it's reusable rocket technology to skyroot and other Indian private sectors ?

Sir, is ISRO's fuel is different from Space X or others because in ISRO's launches the booster or the flare leaves a huge smoke but in space x booster that is clear and we can see the flares clearly in the sky at the time of launches
Why can’t companies like these make jet engines for aircraft’s? What’s the fundamental difference? Can’t these engines modified for our fighter jets? Please, forgive my ignorance.
These are expendable rockets ,only has to fire for minutes/ seconds. An aircraft engine is much more complex, and has to run for hours. That requires special materials/alloys etc. New manufacturing methods needed to create hot section (Turbine blades etc) ,needs throttle control, has to withstand considerable foreign object damage (bird strikes) ,has to be maintenance friendly. there are many more factors.
Aircraft engines are far far more complex than rocket engines as they need specialised materials and technology. Because they are reused 1000s of times.
Rocket engines have to work for a few minutes sometimes a few seconds but jet engines have lifetime of a couple of thousand hours, not only do they have to work for such long periods they have to do it at incredibly high temperatures and incredibly high speeds too. And be safe enough to be operated by humans on board. And be reliable enough to be trusted in war time.
@@kunjukunjunil1481 I get that. But won’t these engineers have a good amount of knowledge abt these engines? Surely rocket engine knowledge must help in creating a jet engine! Or it’s not relevant at all?
I don’t think it’ll launch any time soon… 3rd or 4th quarter next year would be an optimistic assumption…these are just rocket engines, there are other things as well, there will be issues in the test which they need to resolve. The engines are pressure fed right now which I don’t know if they are aiming to make it pump fed before lunch….and that engine cycle is the real shit! I see till now they have managed injector tech, stable combustion and expansion, but getting the fuel and oxidiser to the combustion chamber is the real engine design I feel which they seem to have bypassed (may be not needed for Vikram 1)! Realistically I don’t see them launching before 2025!
Note: Pawan said, shock cones can form even for normal sew level engine at sea level testing. Depends on pressure factors
How long will it take to see flight tests? That's what everyone wants to know.
Shock cones aka Mach Diamonds will only be visible at sea level, as rocket gain altitude the plume expansion will takes place and we will not be able to see crisp and clear series of Mach cones but rather an expanding plume with hardly 1 or 2 cones
