Really liked this video. Made me think of when I first started playing all those years ago. I remember sitting in the back of the nether island with my sba timer for magma boss jumping around. I remember going down into the little mini dungeon hub (and the big one) when it first came out and running around for the fairy souls. So much fun, I have around 3000 hours over the last 4+ years and I'm hoping for another 4+ ahead. If I recall correctly, the bug where you could fight anywhere had to do with the wither skeleton pet.
This video gave me nostalgia.... I'll forever remember logging in for the first time in September 2019, without knowing almost anything about the game. I remember when i've got my Aspect Of The End, and also how much of a pain was trying to get the grappling hook from auction house (the auctions were literally mad). I remember when i stepped for the first time in a dungeon with LAPIS ARMOUR (at that times it was a good early game armour), and when i've got my Holy dragon armour, thinking that it was one of the best armour in the game (and also pretty good for me since i was an healer in dungeon). Then the hub revamp, the pet update, the dwarven and crystal hollows update..... I have experienced all of them since the start. I remember when Dante was dictator of skyblock and you couldn't enter in any place in the hub without his mask. I remember the resistance created who did beat him (when there was the fight i couldn't participate because of summer holidays lol) and the government of Technoblade that gave us many perks. I've always loved this game and I will always do, so I will continue to play even tho I'm not at the peak of it (rn I'm in 3/4 SA armour after 4 years of gameplay lol), but I think that because I'm still not maxed the game sounds always fun and with lots of things to do, so I'll enjoy playing it everyday (or at least when possible) after school. Thanks Derailious for this video, hope you continue doing well skyblock content👍
I don't think you're gonna appreciate that much BC you know what hypixel skyblock is today and the thing interesting was to never what update they gonna put into the game.
@@granite_iin2852no, i tried doing a classic skyblock ish playthrough (only stuff that existed in slayers update and before). it was honestly pretty fun but its not really possible to do with the current economy (for da) and crimson isles
I love this video, really takes me a trip down memory lane (even though I wasn't fully around in the very start of the game), and the monologue you made talked to my deepest core. I felt the same nostalgia you were feeling and understood exactly what you meant by the feeling of the start of skyblock and generally the 2019 era. I have been waiting so long for someone to point this out, as this era is CRIMINALLY underrated and the warmest I've ever felt on the internet.
man i remember logging into skyblock for the first time back when it first released, everything had a sort of novel charm to it, and nobody knew anything about the game. Id play the game for hours on end with my cousin and trying to get stuff like hardened diamond armor. my favorite moment from that time definitely has to be getting my ember rod, it was a thrill that i havent felt from skyblock since. also remember when the admins said they would be releasing updates weekly?
I loved just hanging out on the little thing in front of the old auction house, and I was all the time fishing in the old mushroom desert, was so chill and so fun to hang out with other players there
The npc sell limit wasnt added at the end update, cus i remember how you could buy flint, gold snd string from the npc for a cheaper way to make slayer items and it lasted for a while (i think untill 2020 at least), but otherwise great video
god this is so nostalgic, even though I only started playing sometime in march of 2020 when covid hit. I remember getting banned for a month cause I had a vpn on and being so bored. One of my friends introduced me to the game and that was all we did after "school." I never played the game right honestly and just stayed in lapis armor and worked on a massive tree in my island that still isn't even finished. I somehow had 150 hours on that profile when barely doing anything productive. I guess it was all I could really do during covid. My aforementioned friend and his brother would always try and get me to play the game right but I never really did. So a lot of these things are still nostalgic for me despite not really participating in them or the community. I wish I could go back to then honestly cause things were so uncomplicated and I was just messing around without really caring about progression. I love the game now but I really do miss that feeling of freedom in the earlier days. And of course technoblade. o7
i can't believe this game is THAT old lmao, i've been playing since june 15th 2019 and i'll be honest this is the best experience ive ever had in minecraft ever, even if i was never rich in skyblock i still had fun playing
I'm a late game player so I came in when all the good stuff was changing and I got lost for 3 years in my own world not understanding the game but just enjoying going their. I just wanted to get away and still go their for that.
The august 2nd daily shop limit was different than the one we have today, if I recall correctly the shop limit that we know was properly implemented around the bazaar update, so early 2020
Great video. I still don't understand why nobody makes pixel party videos. I know pixel party is not Skyblock, but I'm like very few people to get over 20 wins under day and I'm in top 1,000 lifetime in the pixel party game.
I remember when i joined 2019 and the first big update i experienced was the end update. It felt so cozy small a bit competetive but it was fun begging for drags cuz grinding zealots was so sweaty. Sb is still fun but alot of areas are too complicated for me so i am more absent than active now.
i guess so? personally i am an ironman player but i feel the uninflated prices/old economy would be a reason imagine ember rods being extremely valuable again
i though i started around the end update, but you said that one update they stopped jerry from multiplying which is before the end update, and i remember a bunch of jerrys on my island, so i started earlier than i thought, i cant check since my original profile got coop scammed
the official patch note was- “Any item that can be obtained from Minions will now have a daily buy limit of 128 in any shop.” Was supposed to cut down on collection spam.
12:48 is factually wrong; i vividly remember grinding out this menu for hours on end so I could fully HPB my armor in December 2019. If that's not enough proof for you, you can literally see refraction buying thousands of stacks of potatoes in his "becoming legendary in skyblock" video, which came after August 2019. Tiny bit of misinformation which I believe you should cut out.
The official note was: “Any item that can be obtained from Minions will now have a daily buy limit of 128 in any shop.” I probably should have specified more- however they did add that shop limit for some items here
i remember the old hub but i remember the nether more i remember spending 100s of hours there just to see if i could get an ember rod and i didnt get one :( lol
i think i stopped liking the game as much around the time of the end update and the slayers update, thats when the game balance and grindiness went kinda crazy

I would love someone to release original skyblock
There are some hypixel skyblock world remakes that feature most of the items and have all the worlds, They were made a while back as well

I started playing In 2021. The same year when I joined hypixel. Most people don't do this, but I joined forums the same day I joined hypixel.
it's crazy to think that skyblock is so old already...
maybe eventually we'll get a 'skyblock classic' like other mmos

at the VERY beginning, you could spam. They patched that within a few months
damn the legit nostalgia at the end. awesome vid!
these bugs are so funny, I would have loved have to experienced them

Hi o/
End update was absolutely peak of skyblock. After that admins decided they would just push updates that ruin the game instead.
A great update they could add would be bronzeman! A gamemode that is bazzar only! This would be a fun challenge not as hard as ironman
you can alr do that on a normal profile
You can also play ironman in normal mode, what is your point?
@@GargoyleTheSecond my point is that making this a seperate gamemode would be a big waste of time
@@Akri254 it would take like 1 hour to make
@@abadoozydeezy still just not worth being a seperate gamemode
I think im 1st?
