Ahh, Tunisian crochet for a strap. I wish I'd thought of that earlier. Thanks for the reminder on how to do it.

Thank you so much 🙏🏾 I was struggling with the thermal stich for a bag strap and then I found your video and it was a life saver!

How do stop the strap from curling over whilst I'm still crocheting it? Do you think it would be ok to iron it once I've finished it to try and get it to stay straight?

Have you ever done "blocking" with granny squares? I think you could use the same technique here.

I think because all the stitches are picked up onto the hook and then worked off again it’s Tunisian crochet which is a slightly different style of working; it’s a bit more similar to knitting and is usually worked on longer hooks. However for something this narrow there’s plenty of space for it to work on a standard hook and I’m looking forward to giving in a go and seeing how stretchy it is when worked as to whether it will create a solid enough feel for a bag handle. I’ve been meaning to try Tunisian crochet for years too so it’s a good opportunity to give it a try with lots of repetition! 🙂
