I hadn’t thought about this car in ages. I once owned a tan one that I really enjoyed. I used to cruise around “ diggin the scene with a gansta lean” listening to tunes on the FM radio. The best part was my little seat cover named Jackie in the passenger seat. Sadly, one day driving home from work, a drunk driver rear ended me sending the poor ford to the junkyard. Thanks for the memories.
I had this same car, but mine was triple black. Same wheels and trim, the dash looked exactly the same, except mine had the factory am/fm 8-track stereo (now that was “elite” 😊), with vinyl seats and a power driver’s seat, but still no power windows. I had the 351W, not the 351C that’s in this car; mine had single exhaust and no chrome air cleaner or valve covers (maybe those were just for the C’s?). I drove it all through high school and college; I had really wanted a ‘69 Mach 1, but I’d probably be dead if I had gotten one😮. Brings back a lot of memories.
Hi everyone, I am the proud owner of a 1975 Ford Gran Torino which I want to restore, which I am suggested to do to get some parts. I live in Venezuela in the City of Caracas. After watching the video, I was very encouraged to continue with the restoration of the vehicle.
In 75 the model name was Elite...They dropped the Gran Torino...If it had the 2 opera windows it is a 75 ELITE... I'm almost done with a restoration on one now....
Underrated design (except the front, not exactly beautiful); muscular and classy. I really liked the green-themed interior, those seats seems ultra comfortable. Also loved the wheels design. Great car. 6:24 the 351 was running, you almost can't hear it!
Beginning in 1974 there was the Gran Torino and the Gran Torino Elite two separate models. In 1975 and 1976 they renamed it simply the Elite. Though they continued with the Gran Torino from 1972 until 1977 when it was renamed the LTD 2 until 1979 all basically similar mechanically and basically the same platform.
Not true In the 1990s (1995-1996) Ford built the most reliable high quality cars ever Ford Escort automatic power seat belts and the smoothest transmission ever a 5 speed automatic like no other I own 2 of those a sports 2 door HB and a SW. Best cars ever. 25 years later they start in a fraction of a second and the seats are brand new all the electrical intact and get up to 40 miles a gallon (30 combined with city)
That's not a Torino. That is just a lousy lie the car is called elite and have the body of a another lame car named Montego. Torinos have a body with beautiful.lines on the sides that reach the tail lights. This joke called elite and its cousin the Montego never had them And the front of the car nowhere near a Torino
This very car is sitting in my Garage right now👍 didn't know it was a UA-cam star lol
Congratulations man, beautiful.
Beautiful work of art, I just love these cars, they're different. If only I could find one.

If this was a 2022 model, I would buy it in a second!
A literal statement for those who wanted all the glitz that they could afford!

I had a 1974 Ford grand trino elete, Solid black with red racing stripes, I had a 351 Cleveland, I really miss it.
Dude, was it a Gran Torino or elite ?
They are two different cars
@@jpcodnia9133 No, in '74, it was the Gran Torino Elite...for '75 and '76, the dropped the Gran Torino and just called it the Elite
351 Windsor not 351 Cleveland I think, no?
@@jpcodnia9133Wrong 74 was a Gran Torino Elite they dropped the Torino name for the 75 and 76 models they stood alone with the Elite name.
I want to own this classic
I had this exact car in 1975 I had wire spokes put on it👍🏻

Yes they do I owned one back in the day.

Gorgeous survivor!
That's a really nice car! And great work on the video too!
Nice Grand Torino Elite
You mean Elite
No Torino in this video, and the two are different cars
@@jpcodnia9133 in 74 it was a Gran Torino Elite. They dropped Torino for this car in 75

@@gtpcruiser02At last someone that knows about the car👍👍👍👍👍
I got one with 20k miles on it Wished it was in this ones condition.
A very clean and well maintained car. Bet it's gone though. That is nice.
Its a good car!
Ford built some really nice cars during the early to mid 1970's. Then 1979 through the mid 2000's junk.

@@jpcodnia9133 Ford didn't build those escorts, Mazda did.
Same with GM after 1984 all their vehicles are piles of trash....
Looks new. The backup lights aren’t working. And no power windows?! Not so “elite”.
AH REALLY
How much
I had one as a daily transport at school in 1989. Worst car ever😅

He doesn't know what it is but he owns the car and dedicates to restore them... ya funny guy
You obviously don’t know anything about this model!!!!!
