Just a hobbiest photographer and I love my a7cII. Not only is it small, produces great images on its 33mp sensor. I like the new front index finger dial, amazing auto focus, increased stabilization, and being "right eyed" actually like the left side viewfinder keeping my nose off the screen. I use the Tamron 28-200 for most of my regular use. I also like the top of camera switch that lets you flip between photo/video/S&Q. With the three memory slots, it is like having 9 cameras in one (assigning 3 setups for photo, 3 for video, 3 for S&Q).
I bought an A7CII as a companion to my A77RV (ouch: $$$) and I intend to use it for travel and street photography with a 2nd hand 40mm and a 2nd hand 24mm Sony G lenses. I got a wrist strap to hold it. It really feels comfortable in my hands. But I agree with you that bigger lenses might be a problem.
The A7C cameras really only make sense with small lenses. 100% agree on that. Anything that’s bigger than a small prime or the kit zoom becomes a lever that makes the A7C a bit uncomfortable to hold. I only own small primes because I like a lightweight, unobtrusive camera. For people like me, the A7C line is a godsend. =) It’s pretty, it’s compact, and it’s darn capable.
I have Nissin i60 and i40 and they both work fine. I think 1/160 might be fastest synch shutter speed...I routinely shoot at relatively slow shutter speeds to try and get ambient lighting as well as flash.

Great Video
Works great with flashes? At studio? A 1/200 speed sync
