Great video! Have a buddy that drives a 2016 4Runner and rodents have found their way into the engine compartment twice in one month and chewed parts of the wire harness. It cost a tow and $5,700 EACH TIME for the dealer to replace it. Rodents can do costly damage really fast. Another thing I read is they leave trails of urine so they can return to the same vehicle in the same place over and over, so a thorough cleaning helps, too! This is a great tip!

You are an extremely Smart Young Man to go the Non Toxic route. Could you imagine if you used a toxic treatment then got into your truck after sitting in the hot sun ??? What on earth could you have inhaled ? Bless you Sir. I hope you are healthy and well.
BTW... I just ordered a bottle of Peppermint oil. ; )

Great video! I found a nest under my back seat and the video of me finding them is HILARIOUS. Lots of screaming then going “how cuuuutteee”.

Maybe that's why your grandad was always eating peppermints on road trips in the Dodge. He would be proud of you taking good care of the truck.

Wish I would have seen this last year. We had mice get in through the air filter of our 2016 tacoma. TWICE. Solid video.

Had a mouse nest in the trunk of my old Corolla. I ripped out the carpet soaked everything in pine sol after vacuuming everything. Then plugged any possible hole I could find with silicone. Never got another one, so not sure if I got rid of them with my techniques or if they already left to find a better home.

Had some in my engine luckily they didn't chew my wiring up. I also used peppermint oil and its seemed to work.

Omg thank you for this. We have had mice in our truck for about 4 years and have tried everything to get rid of them. Traps don't work as they just steal the food and never set off the traps. We have had to replace our heater thing that looks like a hamster wheel. As the mice got in it and then once turned on, it snapped their necks. Then they froze in there. They have eaten the brake lines, done damage to the electrical, lights, etc. I am so doing this today.

I wish you put the brand of peppermint oil up... there's so many on the market & many are very weak. I have a mouse in the area above my engine. Its chewed a hole in the underneath car molding, then another hole at top part of engine and I'm seeing insulation in the vented are just below wipers. Any suggestions? Ty

Im dealing with this right now. I got some peppermint oil and put it on cotton balls to spread around my car. How long did it take before the mice in your truck had left?

..but does it work for real? I’ve tried peppermint oil in a motel room I stayed in. Once the mice nest, peppermint oil doesn’t chase them out. They fight back by spraying and peeing. If they have nested, that won’t make them leave.

It worked for me and kept them away.
