My wife and I are El Medano regulars and really like the place. It was wonderful during the covid crisis when smoking was banned on the café terraces, and more importantly, the ban was actually enforced. We have just returned and are depressed to see that smoking is once more allowed on the terraces. What a missed opportunity to maintain such a desirable measure. Once more the minority - maybe 20% of people - are imposing their revolting and toxic habit on the 80% who don't smoke. One day I really do hope that someone in authority will have the guts to impose a total ban in all places where people eat and drink.
Great showcase for el medino. I’ve always fancied having a go at kite surfing but looks like you have to be super strong. I think you should have a go first Andrew😀xxx
Very informative vlog Andrew and Laura. Great job with the microphones, could barely hear any wind noise. A work colleague stayed in El Medano and absolutely loved it there
Thanks for a very interesting video Andrew and Laura. I was in El Médano last week. It is also an enjoyable walk if you continue in your direction to the far end, then up montaña roca and then across the lovely playa de la tejita (always windy) and onto los Abrigos. The 470 or 467 bus will take you to los cristianos. In the other direction you have a small but lovely sandy beach called playa pelada and an enjoyable walk around montaña pelada. As you mentioned there are some excellent sea food restaurants in El Médano.
Hi guys, lovely place to be and glad they are spending some money on the contamination issues and the wood walkway definitely needs removing and replacing but I know composite is very expensive but that is a massive job as looked a lot of area of wood to remove so look forward to see what they do,those crapes looked 😋😋🤙👌👍
We always stay in Golf del Sur, but always get down to El Medano. We have noticed that Jet 2 are now offering one of the Hotels In El Medano so we are thinking about using this one when we next come out in March. Keep up the good work you 2 are brilliant for the Island.
Would be nice if they could manage to have such fresh Sahara sand on that beach next to Hotel medano, if that's is possible, cos that would upgrade the beach a lot... Thanks for the video Andrew, loving el Medano too for its friendly easygoing vibe...
Farmers market is on Wednesday and the crafts market on Saturday. Both mornings until 1 or 2pm respectively. There is a large farmers market just past the petrol station near the motorway on Saturday mornings too.
Its my favorite beach in all of Tenerife. Less tourist and more locals. . Its where I start my cycling ride from the bike shop in El Medano to Mt. Teide and back.
Hi Andrew, we take the bus there and get an octopus salad in a takeaway and eat it on a bench, it's delicious. Btw, our local beach next to the Arona Gran needs attention..bit scruffy lol.
Lovely place, we were then on monday, walked up the "airport rock" amazing views from the top and then stopped for lunch in one of the fish restaurants you mentioned 👍🏻
As always very informative. If El Medano was only situated away from the wind! It is maybe more a Summer place to visit, but as I found in January, if it is very windy, the sheltered parts of the island are not far away. As mentioned in a previous post on El Medano, much faster buses are available by walking up to the main highway, where you may take one to Los Cris.
Never been there but it looks lovely, it reminds me of Correlejo in Fuerteventura - a bit less developed and natural looking with many places to explore. Will definitely look into visiting next time we're there! ♥️
Many years ago, when I stayed with my mother, uncles and aunts in Los Chris, we used to go to El Medano to aplace called 'El Caballo Blanco'. Coffee there came with an enormous brandy. Is it still there?
It's great to see investment in drainage infrastructure, this is something you will never see in the UK. I have heard somewhere that all these beach side walks will be connected up to make a long distance walking route around Tenerife I think major investment is needed in transportation, the tram system in Santa Cruz de Tenerife needs extending around the island, linking in both airports or potentially, closing TFN and building a second runway at TFS and really future proofing the Island infrastructure as a whole. I understand that a second runway at TFS will require making new land off the coast, preferably West of Montaña Roja.
Hey Andrew, we're back out to El Medano next May (for our 1st wedding anniversary) staying at the Arenas del Mar. Do you know when all this work will take place? Just wondering if it will interfere with our visit.
Hi I was there last week had the best tapas in a long time !!! First restaurant to the right as you get off the bus to walk along the promenade .sorry can’t remember the name of it . Also does anyone know what the writing on the walkway says ?
Hi Andrew, yes, that gravel pathway between Park Santiago I and II where I came to grief a couple of weeks ago could do with a facelift. Incidentally I can’t find any vlogs (yours or anyone else) that actually pass those two Park Santiago blocks. Before we chose to go down the dodgy path, the aspect ahead looked very interesting but I never got to explore it. Is there any chance you might cover that area?
Love this town , great vibe , changes will help

Nice area 👍🏽
Looks like a nice area, and works out pretty cheap if you stop in a apartment. Loving the Vlogs by the way, even watching the Florida ones
Thanks Adam!
Lovely place and always visit. Unfortunately, not for 3 years now. Covid then illness this year. Fingers crossed for next year. 🤞
Get well soon

I agree!!
We are staying in the Hard Rock this week and are loving the amazing weather x
Very hot 🥵
24 degrees at almost 9pm in Cyprus. I would be first in the queue when they rip the walkway up, a bit off TLC and would look amazing.
Very hot 🥵

Need to do that soon!
Some of the screws stick up on the boardwalk too. Got to be careful if you’ve got flip flops on.
Yes not good
Anywhere nice and quiet in Tenerife Andrew and Laura.love you,s.xx
