- PART 1 of my quest for a Murgese horse for the USA in Italy. In this series I search a Murgese horse in Italy that will fly to the USA. The Murgese is an ancient war horse breed from Puglia (Southern Italy) and was almost extinct. There are still not many Murgese horses and they are very rare outside of Italy. I made this series with love for the Murgese horse and I hope the breed becomes known all over the world.
Who am I?
I am a Grand Prix dressage rider, equestrian instructor and Equine behavioral therapist.
I own the approved Murgese stallion Carletto. He is the first Murgese horse in the world in Grand Prix dressage, the highest level of the sport. Carletto is an excellent breeding stallion and available with frozen semen in the EU and the United Kingdom. For information mail info@superguus.com

Thank you for sharing such an interesting and inspiring journey. Someday I hope (and dream) to own a Murgese. The history and training of war horses speaks to me. A breed much deserving of more recognition and love in the equitation community.
Oooh Jolanda alle paarden zijn zo gaaf maar… waar ik het meeste van heb genoten is het stukje met de fluitende vogels na het avondeten😊
Ik begrijp volledig wat je zei over deze eerste 2 knappe baby's.. Maar ik zou persoonlijk toch voor de 2e gegaan zijn omdat hij niet alleen betere bewegingen had maar ook meer zelfvertrouwen en in dit korte stukje helemaal geen angst liet zien. Hij was dapperder.. Het eerste hengstje heeft hele lieve ogen, een zachte uitstraling maar was ook heel terughoudend en onzeker.. Is natuurlijk maar een moment opname.. Maar een paard wat van nature niet snel onzeker is en eerder naar nieuwe of vreemde situaties toe loopt dan er voor weg loopt is ook een pluspunt in de training. Beide paarden zou ik sowieso op een andere manier benaderen en trainen en een onzeker paard kan je zelfvertrouwen op laten bouwen.. Maar een paard met wat meer expressie en een sterker karakter kan je ook leren om relaxter te zijn. Dat meenemend en kijkend naar de bouw en bewegingen vond ik de 2e daarom "beter". Ik denk dat het bij deze 2 vooral bepalend zou zijn wat iemand uiteindelijk met het paard wil gaan doen en hoeveel ervaring die persoon heeft.. Beide waren op hun eigen manier iig wel heel mooi!

Ben het helemaal met je eens betreft Soldano! Mijn voorkeur zou ook uitgaan naar hem…spectaculaire paarden zoals Schindler vinden denk ik altijd (en wellicht makkelijker) een huis,terwijl de zachtere,meer gevoelige paarden eerder over het hoofd gezien worden….?! Kan het mis hebben maar dat gevoel had ik er zo’n beetje bij ☺️
Yes, one stallion is much horse😅 between the two i would chose soldano because if his color and sweetness, but don't like his black head, and the stain on his belly in another color. But he looks great. Love him 😊

Ontzettend leuke video, zo mooi om te zien hoe het murgese paard leeft daar. In de cultuur en hoe trots de mensen erop zijn.
Ik hoop ooit zelf een murgese paard te kunnen kopen, sind dat ik jou en Carletto volg ben ik verkocht. En door dit soort filmpjes steeds meer ❤

I know that breeding horses is'nt easy, and i know it cost a lot of money. But i hope you can buy a blue murgees mare to breed with carletto. Sure you will make a lot of money, but it cost money, time and much work to reach this.

En zo bang voor mensen. Ze mogen uiteraard veulen zijn en hoeven echt niet niet alles te kunnen. Maar bang voor mensen is wel weer t andere uiterste...
Hoe is het mogelijk? Voor italie heb je toch geen visa nodig. Ik als belg ging vele malen naar italie voor de europese unie. Nooit visa gevraagd. En nu in de europese unie kan je met je identiteitskaart, zelfs zonder paspoort in heel europa gaan, dus zeker zonder visa. Dus daar begrijp ik geen snars van. Een belg/ nederlander hebben geen visa nodig.😊
Als je uit de luchthaven zou zijn gegaan, taxi naar rentcar, gewoon met je paspoort en creditkaart wordt je iveral aanvaard. En nog gekker: als ik me niet vergis was je italiaanse man toch bij je. Meld dat aan je consulaat/ ambasade want dat is onmogelijk.😊
Het ging om een Visa betaal kaart voor de borg ;)
I love to see this adventure. But why so young? If i should buy one i would chosen or vey young, just weaned, but better 3yo. Because you can start to train and do groundwork, startle training, lunging, make him used to saddle... But 2yo? Si you see everybody has his opinion. And the client will have his reason. He must trust you because if your horsemanship, you know almost to much about horses, and of course murgese horses. Happy for you to have this oportunity.👍🥰
The young age has to do with the travel regulations. It cost a lot more to fly a 3 years old then a foal

Stable fan e goengamieden, friesian horses, fly once a horse to canada, and in a few days one of their horses, ster julius, who was sold to the royal stables, years ago, will fly to the states. He's sold to a luxurius stable, where their young daughter lexy will ride him.
Sometimes i'm asking me how it's possible so many horses are flying to other countrys to compete. Who has all that money to spend in airtickets? And so the price is like the price for children🥰

It's posible you will buy soldano when you don't find a better ine. But you have to know the intention from your client: will he/she ride him, breed with him, go to competition, what is his purpose? But i'm sure you will find that horse.🫡
My choice would have been Soldano as well, better go for a kind horse/ stallion than for trouble. 🫶💖🇳🇱
