We plant grass seed, here in the South of the USA, in the fall. Gives it a chance to get established before the heat of the summer. Water is highly important. Gentle water so the seed doesn’t wash away. It will look great.
We cut down some dying conifers along the bottom and side of my back garden last July - I lost half my lawn due to the works but scattered seed and watered it daily and within a month had a fab lawn again 🧑🌾 if you're grass struggles to grow there maybe you could just pave it on each side

You can pickup an old one and spruce it up, the old ones are the best as they were made to last. I made a lovely cart from a shopping trolley someone dumped near the house. Tony - if you’ve used the “back alley” for 12 years or more, and in that time it’s been closed to anyone but you, then you can get Possessory Title (ie squatters rights) to it. I’m sure you knew that but some people might not.

I'm fascinated by the walls. One has things that look like they were once windows in it. What's their history? Maybe a whole video about them? You don't have to see your neighbors do you? We don't have walls in the midwest USA.
The bricked up holes were maybe coal holes - where coal was shovelled in to store it until you needed it - but they are a bit high for that so maybe they were windows 🤷
Tony, the seed takes seven days to germinate. I used the same seed. Make sure you cover it with white fleece to keep the birds off, or you'll end up doing it twice like me.
😂😂😂I think I prefer the voice over😂😂😂. How about " Mother CUTTER"? I elaborately sowed microcontroller over my lawn to fill i the bald dog pee patches. Nice and green now!
Watch you don't do yourself some damage!.. get yourself some sack trucks to move stuff about.. you can get some that support round items too that are made for moving gas bottles around.. take care Tony.. 😬
Itll do the grass good. Itll grow through it. I top dress my lawn with spent potato compost mixed with blood fish and bone after i put seeds on in autumn and it does it a world of good. Looks rubbish for a week or so bug soon comes through. Mind your back Tony. Great video though 😂
That area would make an awesome mini orchard with a meadow for early spring and a herb garden down the right hand side looking from the bins down! You could grow fig trees where the bins are, against the wall and keep the concreted section for compost bins etc! Still keep the lawn but plant a few fritillaries, poppies, crocuses etc and have another great project to keep you going! (sorry) XxxX
I got that onion white rot in my beds lost all my red baron that I grew from seed and most of my spring onions just been a disaster this year with weather aswell
You need a sack truck in your yard for moving those pots round. You really shouldn't be lifting ur dragging weights like that, especially after the surgery that you had
