Dread? lol, more like soul-crushing nostalgia for a time I can't get back to no matter how hard I want it.
I think Gwyn’s story is so sad yet tragic. So the theme really brings some nostalgia and emotions from DS1. Especially how he’s shown in the opening cinematic and when you fight him at the end of the game. And he’s not even how he was represented. Not powerful, or godly. Just a shell of himself. Same goes for Vendrick in DS2
The moment those three piano notes played, I realized that this was the perfect send off to the series.

At the halfway point the Soul of Cinder is like, "Alright time to use ol faithful!" Then you hear it... the three piano keys.
I remember watching Lobro slowly chipping away at DS1 and that huge ass stream against Biggie & Smalls until he finally beat them and now he's a Souls vet
Lobro got seriously good at Souls games... fucking beat the Champ, NK, and SoC on his first attempt? That's nuts, man. Just look at how he expertly dodges some of the attacks he hasn't even seen before during this video. The dude got his ass rekt so many times throughout the Lobrosouls streams that he got gud. Look at him now. I bet Lobos is proud af.

Sad that they fought SOC on the very late game, even defeating Gael before SOC. Wish they would have done it earlier, but oh well. Good gameplay.
Agreed they should have done SoC before the DLCs, but its not our choice to make :/
In terms of difficulty, yeah. I save it for last when I play, though. I like the finality of it. Just doesn't feel right continuing the same NG cycle after the ending cutscene and credits roll. It doesn't make sense ending the world and then going around afterward like nothing changed.

Yes you can. The game asks if you wanna move on to the next cycle, you can select "No" and do it later at Firelink Shrine.

Pretty sure it’s you from the first game, not Gwyn. Since you defeated Gwyn, and replaced him and Darksouls 3 is taking place after.
Could be wrong but I’ve never seen anything in the game pointing towards it being Gwyn. They also would’ve just named it Gwyn instead of “soul of cinder”. It’s nameless because it’s you.
Also want points to it being you is the fact that they switch between weapons, as one does in the first darksouls after playing it for so long. When you’re on NG+7 you’ve pretty much mastered everything.
