I started with Sony MDR XB90ex and Fiio X1 in 2014. Now I am with Hiby R5ii + Sennheiser HD650. Rest are all memories
I had Koss Pro 4AA headphones as a teenager, and I'd listen to NYC FM radio after my parents were asleep. I remember Alison Steele "The Nightbird" on WNEW-FM starting her 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM show with "Riders on the Storm" every night, then who knows what you'd hear next!
I started with Sony MDR-v6.
At 4 years old back in the early nineties, I had a Koss PortaPro, but I always used them with portable cassette players, so I never realized how great they actually were. I've kind of always preferred headphones since, I'm also quite comfortable with on-ears.
2011 , while waiting for next job and Flight , I wandered into RMAF11 and met Tyll who recommended Schiit & Sennheiser HD600 . I still love the Asgard 2 amp and Sennheiser HD 580,600 series of transducers.
Now , retired in Florida , I'm considering Abyss and Woo that you lads offer ( your less pricy stuff ) .
You lads are probably the best gear reviewers I've ever discovered, you can even describe the sound differences in DACs which no other Reviewers seem able to do.
Not sure how many people remember My First Walkman, but that tape player wore out Big Willie Style by Will Smith. That got me into recording actual mixtapes from using the music from radio stations or my folks CD collections on my dual deck stereo. Annoying as hell, but it made me appreciate the evolution to CD players and so on.
I still have those AKG headphones!
It was 2020 during the height of the pandemic was when I started experimenting with the EQ settings on my Sony XM3 headphones. Then I stumbled upon the r/headphones subreddit and went down many rabbit holes. I eventually got myself a pair of Sennheiser HD280 Pros and later the 560s when they released. The rest is history.
My first headphone was my dear AKG K240. They needed good amplification!
I'm 42 and remember in the mid 90's as a teenager my first headphones which were Sennheiser and Sony Neckband around the ear headphones, I can't really remember the models, they didn't have the best sound quality but were super comfy but did break quite easily in which I purchased quite a few. Back then I wasn't as OCD about my sound quality as I'm now even though I was a little picky with music that had cassette hiss, then I got a Sony CD player for my 15th birthday in 1996 and for me that was a huge upgrade vs cassette poor sound quality.
It was the Sony cassette walkman’s that got me into headphones first later it was sound engineering and mastering. Today I want to provide electro frequency therapy with music so a pair of 1266’s is on my inventory SBA loan list.

I was lucky to find a mint set to reminisce.
I think around '97 when I first used earphones, cheap stuff but I couldn't believe the big sound and quality compared to listening to something like an Omega cassette player. I don't remember what brand it was, I suspect it generic. Don't remember how I came across them. But buy this point I had had a few cassette players of my own.
How about making earpads that never need replacing? Micro titanium chain mail custom painted filled with 1:16 inches diameter balls of magnesium (no foam) ? Consider parting out to a vendor or expand your shop.
