    Thank you for this great video Edward. You walked right past my late grandparents house on Robinson, and I was able to catch a quick glimpse of it in your video, so this was a wonderful trip down memory lane. I have so many memories of the Cathedral neighbourhood in the 60s and 70s. I see lots of changes, but it is also nice to see many of the smaller shops still remain.

    I love Saskatchewan cities. They're just so clean and peaceful and the architecture is very nice. I'm from BC and Vancouver is beautiful, but is so dirty in comparison. It suffers from a big homelessness and drug addiction population.I just don't know if I could ever leave behind the incredible mountains we have for hiking and biking etc.

    Its so amazing looking at all these downtown buildings irl, I've been modeling them 1:1 in an MC online project and they remind me about the nice downtown builds we have!

    Looks like a throwback to the pleasant but staid '50s. The main roads are too broad. It'd be a nice change of pace from too crowded toronto

    The only time I've ever really went/go downtown is when I was a kid or Im hammered hitting the bars 😆. Next summer I'm probably gonna spend time exploring regina.

    I am wondering If there are any high-rise apartments in Regina? The reason I am asking is because I haven't seen any in your video. I enjoyed the city I thought it was a small little city.

    • @EdwardWillett
      @EdwardWillett  11 місяців тому

      The tallest building in Regina is 20 stories, so by big city's standards, nothing really high-rise. Lots in the kind of ten to fifteen story range.

    I have a question about the music scene. My husband and friends play music at the Legion here (60 plus crowd) in B.C….do you know anything about that?

    • @EdwardWillett
      @EdwardWillett  Рік тому +1

      There are a number of live-music venues but I don’t know a lot about it. Bushwakker Brew Pub, for instance, has regular live music by local groups, with jazz and blues on Mondays and folk on Wednesdays. Not sure if our local Legion is still lively enough for live music on a regular basis…

      Most parts of the city, sure. It depends on the neighbourhood, of course. And you shouldn't walk in the road, you might get run over. :)

  • @valeria-militiamessalina5672

    My friend was surprised when he heard about this place, having never studied Latin in school he thought it was a made up word and absolutely insisted on pronouncing the last sequence of syllables in the word "regina" the way the word "gin" -the drink- is pronounced. ReGINa. He realized his mistake only after playing the pronunciation for him. We laughed for days.

    • @EdwardWillett
      @EdwardWillett  Рік тому

      Yes, I’d live to know how our mispronunciation took over, since when it was named, everybody still took Latin in school. But I’ve never the GIN pronounced like the drink. I kind of like it!

    Why is it that pretty much all the videos I’m seeing of Regina make it look like a ghost town 🤷🏻, I mean, it looks kinda nice, but the population looks very low….., which in turn suggests that there’s not much to do

    • @EdwardWillett
      @EdwardWillett  Рік тому

      Population is around 250,000. There's lots to do. But if you're looking for New York or Toronto levels of crowding on the streets, you won't get it, no.

    • @Sacrifice-Paid
      @Sacrifice-Paid Рік тому

      @@EdwardWillett cheers, tbh, I’m coming from a completely different situation, in comparison to USA I live on an island 😂 called England, I grew up in London but live in an area called Southend in Essex, the reason I’ve been looking at these videos is, I’ve potentially got a job offer on the horizon with a start date in March next year, but it means moving, which for me is quite a scary thing to do, leaving everything I’ve known and what I’m comfortable with behind, to go to a place as a stranger and no idea if I’ll even like it, although the residential area of Wascana looks a bit more appealing, but still wanna be within reasonable distance to the town, as for population and being crowded, I moved away from London cos of all that, but to have some population and things to do just makes it a bit more appealing, so I’m trying to do research, which ain’t that easy, cos sometimes you never really know until you’re there, and that’s a big gamble

    • @EdwardWillett
      @EdwardWillett  Рік тому

      @@Sacrifice-Paid Well, it would definitely be an adjustment, but it's nice city. There's live music and brewpubs and Canada's longest-running symphony orchestra and professional theatre and festivals and all that kind of stuff. But I grew up in a much smaller town so for me Regina was always the big city. :)

    • @EdwardWillett

      @@EdwardWillett yeah, England is known for mixed weather, and I don’t feel the cold much, but….. Canadian winters, damn, they’re on another level….., when it comes to life outside work, for me I’m quite simple, I love music, and I’m play myself, but for me it’d also be finding a good gym, preferably CrossFit and a decent Bible based church, of which looking on google, I seemed to have already found a decent church, but again, it’s all a massive risk, cos no guarantee it’s going to work out
