Great video. I just ordered a Chimera boom and its the smaller version. I am excited that I don’t have to kill continue to loosen up the C stand grips and continually adjust it for each athlete. It’s going to be nice to just adjust it super easy like these offer. I am super excited to finally have something like this. I use the godox ad600 but when I put it on a boom arm I usually use the extension head just so I don’t have all that weight out at the end. So now it’s just gonna be nice to be able to adjust it on the fly

Sorry Steve - I'm wrong! I have done a bit more online research and your boom IS a Cambo compact boom, rebranded in the US as Calumet. The one I was thinking of is the Cambo Redwing RD-1201 - a bigger version that allows you to get the light source further away from the stand - also sold as the Calumet Standard Boom Arm.

Hello, thanks for the video! One question: which stand can I use as a stand for Cambo Redwing Compact Light Boom with 7kg (15 Lbs) Lead. I am not sure which product might be more compatible

I would use a Junior stand vs a regular light stand. These stands are meant to hold heaver loads than normal steel light stands. This is an example, but you can find them from Kupo, Matthews, Avenger, Provably Impact (B&H). Adorama, Sammy's, B&H and Film Tools are places to order on line. www.adorama.com/fplsrb12.html

Hi Steve, thanks for the video. How does this handle larger and heavier light shapers? I'm concerned that since there is no locking mechanism for tilting the light forward/backward. What if it's a very large softbox? I know it has a spigot/pin with flat edges, but I'm worried it will want to sag down with the weight

This is the small version of the arm, they make one that is longer. I have used this with a large profoto softbox which I think is 4x6 feet. I think it comes down to weight limits for the arm/stand as well as working distance between the softbox and arm/stand.

@@UsedProfessionalStrobes Hi Steve, I have a similar concern with the hexagonal junior pin. I have a Godox AD 600 Pro with a round/female receiver. Seems snug, but curious if you've had any problems? BTW, just received mine today from B&H under Cambo Red Wing 1200 brand. Thanks-Greg
