- Never tested something like this before but glad I did. I'm all about the Micro Bikes especially when they go 20 mph.
I do receive a small commission if you use this link to pick it up and save $25 with code: ER25

Note: When conducting range tests, I typically go full throttle (which may not be how most people ride their ebikes). Although I didn't quite hit 10 miles, the JackRabbit is clearly designed to coast super well given how light it is. I imagine most folks won't be a speed demon as much as I am, and will easily hit 10+ miles, which is more than enough for the quick urban trips this "micro" ebike was designed for. However, if some people have "range anxiety," JackRabbit also sells an extra battery for $199 that clips under the seat or can be thrown in a backpack to instantly double your range.
Also, something pretty cool and unique about the JackRabbit: given how small and light it is, it's technically FAA-compliant and can be brought on a plane! Truly the most portable ebike out there.
Ultimately, If you're looking for a more sustainable mobility open, that's super portable, more comfortable and stable than a scooter, and under $1000, this is a great option to consider.

Hey guys, JackRabbit's offering a flash sale from now until midnight on 8/31: $100 off JackRabbit and 30% off select accessories
Fellow JackRabbit owners here! Just my 2 cents to add in... We just went on a 20 mile bike ride on the Silver Strand in Coronado, CA and it was so much fun!! I can go up to 24 miles with 2 batteries... my husband is heavier than me and can go about 19-20 miles on his. 2 batteries is clutch and a pro move if you ask me!!
I do notice my husband tends to hold his bike down at full throttle while I am not always holding it all the way down... if I were I can easily pass him due to weight differences alone. I chalk the full throttle thing up to guys having that "need for speed" right? 😉
My husband rides his to work sometimes which is about 9-10 miles each way and is doable when he charges at work or packs his extra battery.
I know you get a softer ride with a lower PSI but that does affect your overall mileage. Full pumped up tires will allow you to maximize your MPH and distance.
Overall this is a great review! I really do love my JR for big city living! Fun, functional, fits in the trunk of my car and fits in my tiny apartment with no garage!! I can't wait to travel via air with it!! 10/10 recommend JackRabbit!!
Agreed. It says it goes 10 miles on a charge, but the way I ride (mostly on flat ground/streets) I usualy just get momentum going with the throttle and then coast. So my battery definiately feels like it lasts a lot longer than it should... I'm also not riding more than 15mph, rarely do I bother riding at top speed. And yes, get a second battery, This is what I've done, I usuely ride with a backpack, so I just make sure I'm carrying it with me, I've never used the second battery, bever really been in a situation where I've rode for more than 10 mikes at a time anyway. Great little bike, the best part about it is how easily you can customize it.
The JackRabbit XG is now available and shipping. Please do a review of the XG and a comparison with the JackRabbit OG.
I have one being delivered Wednesday. To say I'm excited would be an understatement
How have you liked it so far?
The battery is actually small enough to take onboard airplanes legally in carryon. They offer a great bag for air transport.
Consider this (potential) scene in a (hopefully never-gonna-happen) reboot of a certain timeless classic (I know - there exists the Y2K sequel)....
Elwood: "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a 36V 4.2Ah battery, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses."
Jake: "Hit it."
🤣
You can bring a few extra betteries in a backpack and increase your range by a lot.
Just brought mine very excited 💪🏽💪🏽 hopefully hills won’t kill me
Enjoy! It's a blast!
@@ElectricRevolution will do!! by any chance will there be videos on the Ropella mini or the lectric bikes?
I want to purchase then modify to a front powered 500w wheel with bigger tread tires,.and definitely have wires/cables out of sight and routed inside frame. I can imagine a tilted type bar stool seat where you can bolt off in quickness if ever about to crash going down the mountain trail....funny at my age and weight 52-243pounds I have and still will modify to make it better and 1 of a kind
I was going to buy one but went with lectric since Jack rabbit wanted to charge me $200 dollars for painting a bike red.
kind of disappointing the maker didn't give it more range. under 10 miles is a joke.
There must be at least 100 different E-bike Companies selling units in the U.S. most with really weird names. Most of them from China. Many of them are very similar in style and features. Out of all the ones I have checked out, I really like the Velotric Discover 2.
It's not as small or light but I'd rather have a Juiced RipRacer. Way more range and about the same price.
I'm sure this is great for getting around a campus or running to the closest gas station though.
ripracer is 55lbs compared to jackrabbit which is about 25lbs. Huge difference
wow i saw 28mph on the dial crazy fast.
Every bike is crazy fast going down a steep hill.
You think it would support me at 260lbs? They say 240lb max but that must account for some extras in a backpack or the optional basket.
I wouldn't push it
@@ElectricRevolution - Coincidentally I just emailed them and they told me they have a bigger version coming out that will support upto 275lbs.
I would only buy this bike for $1000 if it had a 500W motor, a limited top speed of 20 mph and a LARGE battery with a true 30 mile range since there are no pedals @ empty battery...
$500 for me. This is a toy for beer runs to 7/11 and not much else.
Great bike for camping!
The bike looks nice but it should be like 500 with that miles u get on a charge
Is it possible to change the seat on the bike? Maybe be able to put a wider seat with springs on it lol
Yeah
Great review señor 👏
Great for small spaces
Really wish it had a low power switch that would only go like 12-15mph max. Maybe get an extra 2-3 miles out of it
Agreed
@@ElectricRevolution so I ended up getting one, it’s okay. It’s fun but I expected more from a 10 mile rating. In my area I get what feels like 4-5 miles out of it.
⚡👀⚡
where is this trail plz?
Utah Valley in Utah
I would like to see a
Review on the Emove Roadrunner.
It has dual motors 500 & 350 watts 34 mph.
I'll see what I can do
I have one....I hit 36mph at one point, but I weigh 160lbs.....their quality control isn't there, but the little thing is awesome and I can get anywhere on it
Is this Arizona??
Utah
It's a cool bike for ripping around the block, but can't see many people paying a 1000bucks for it
I ordered one yesterday for commuting. it's a mile walk to the bus stop from my house and I don't want to do that walk before and after work every day after being on my feet at work so this bike is perfect. I'm hoping I can bring the bike onto the bus and I know I'll be able to bring it on the train so it'll be a great commuter vehicle for me
I do always think about if battery strands me 6 miles deep in the woods and no pedal to get my non prepared ass back to my home
That is a thing..
HOW MUCH THEY ASKING FOR EXTRA BATTERIES?
$199 for an extra battery: jackrabbit.bike/collections/accessories/products/extended-range-battery?variant=41475199369384
Couple hundred jackrabbit.bike/collections/accessories/products/extended-range-battery?variant=41475199369384
$200 bucks
The Lectric Xp Lite made this obsolete
isn't the lectric xp like 70 pounds?
that thing is 46 lbs...this is 25. if you wanna haul it up and down stairs to your apartment its gonna be less than ideal
@@gbird5000 it’s about 46 pounds…40 without the battery. It’s the Lite version. I can literally lift it with one hand because it has a handle on the frame.the motor is surprisingly powerful too. It peaks at 720 watts and I can climb any hill in my area while pedaling , without a sweat.
I want one 😎
The price is HORRIBLE they got me fucked up
Hipster doofus has will buy anyting
Not a bike; needs to be licensed and insured in CA.
No, it falls under scooter regulation in California (under CA DMV). Does not require registration. There are already oodles of riders all over California enjoying miles and smiles.
@@jackrabbitbike I won't go back and forth arguing, but it needs a floorboard to be a scooter here.
@@bobbybecker80 Great, we agree. Our foot rests are a floorboard. We are based in San Diego, California, btw. Thanks!
@@jackrabbitbike Doubt it, but we'll never know since "e" activity isn't policed in CA.
@@bobbybecker80 There are no dimensional specifications or "look and feel" requirements of a floorboard. There are however, some specifications that a rider needs to be able to stand on the floorboard while riding and for the seat to not interfere with standing on the floorboard while riding, which the JackRabbit is compliant with. (You can take the seat off the JackRabbit and ride it standing up, for example.) Hope you doubt it less and maybe even take a ride at our growing list of retailers and ambassadors in California that you can see under Test Rides on our website.
Seems like a great waste!!
