94 epic Trance sounds, compatible with the Novation Mininova and Ultranova hardware synths. This bank is 100% Trance-oriented, which means no weird brass, pianos, or FX. The patches in Traverse come straight out of songs written using the classic Nova and Supernova series synths. So this soundset is designed to fully exploit the Mini and Ultranova sound engines to their fullest potential!
Patches in Traverse are based on sounds from songs by the likes of Gaia, 7 Skies, Mike Koglin, Alphazone, Genix, Bjorn Akesson, Craig Connelly, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Daniel Kandi, Jorn van Deynhoven, Oceanlab, Arctic Moon, Marcel Woods, and many many more!
And to cap off the bank some patches were set to Initial, so you have room to write and store your own patches without overwriting any existing sounds!
Only 3rd party FX used in the demos was Virus TI2 reverb applied to some Leads, Pads, Plucks, and Acid sounds. All other FX are 100% from the Mininova.
Requirements: Novation Mininova or Ultranova synthesizer

Nice.👌
Amazing versatility. I must realize my long time thought and buy the Mininova next month. And get those patches
You won't regret it! All this thing needs is a good reverb and it rockets off to another world of sound!
(If you don't have a Virus, ValhallaRoom is what we recommend for a solid alternative)
Made me put this back in the rack
Muahahah let the games begin!
Sold! Another epic soundset, best trance soundset designer, only wish I had more synths 😁 Didn´t even bother with your Winter discount code as they are already an absolute bargain.
Ah yes, you'll enjoy this one! We think these sounds surpass even Traverse 1!
And have fun with the Modwheel with these - we started using the Modwheel more on the Drift soundset, and now we're using it on all MN banks going forward
...and we will also go and fix up the original Traverse bank to use it as well, so make sure to follow us on FB so you can catch the notice, and claim your free updated copy of the modwheeled Traverse 1 when the update goes out! 😁
@@KulshanStudios sweet, will do thanks.
@@darkambience enjoy, amigo!
Superb patches. What an amazing little synth the mininova is
It really is
These are brilliant! Thank you
Enjoy!
Oh man... 8:20 - Gareth Emery's "Saving Light"'s lead sound.
Yup! The Mininova can do it all 😁
@@KulshanStudios any idea how hard it would be to port to the Novation peak/summit?
@@FormulaXFD impossible to do a direct port. Architecture and hardware are completely different
For now, only solution is to manually recreate the sound by ear
Amazing patches!
Thanks!
will get these when i buy mininova. do you have plans to make a bass soundset?
We do! We just don't know exactly when
Our next Mininova bank is gonna be Hands Up... 'cause almost all of everyone's fave hands up tunes were made on its grandpappy, and we've been wanting to make those sounds for a while now 😛
@@KulshanStudios good to know. i had an ultranova but sold it because i never liked the stock presets. a big mistake.. since now the synth is discontinued i regret.
@@KulshanStudios what synth is that "granddaddy"? Supernova II or K-Station?
Upd: I looked it up on your website, it's Supernova II it seems. But how do the K-Station and Supernova II compare? Was K-Station used in trance or handsup a lot? Considering its VSTi successor was very popular for a long time.
Do you know which installer to use with an old MacBook Pro. I never updated my laptop so I can still use in Ableton live if needed. There is a lot of confusion on my part for which installer to use so I can get this pack.
@@dchromej the current Mininova installer MIGHT still work? But your safest bet would probably be Sysex Librarian, unless you can find a windows laptop lying around for patch management
My music tastes are; Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Trance, would this be better than the Arturia Minifreak for me?
@@paulmartin3946 probably. This synth is super versatile. We haven't gotten around to make a Synthwave bank for it yet, but as you can see from our inventory, we've pulled 80s and Synthwave soundbanks out of the Nord Lead 2X, JP8080, Sub37, and Slim Phatty, so you best believe we'll be covering the Mininova as well. It's a hugely underrated powerhouse that punches way above its price point
@@KulshanStudios Thank you!
@@paulmartin3946 you bet!
@@KulshanStudios I ended up buying an Ultranova! preferred the bigger keys.
Dobthese sound patches replace the ones supplied with the synth or just add more to the synth?
They will replace whatever's on the synth, but if you use the Novation Editor/Librarian, you can pick and choose where these patches go, so you won't lose your favorite factory sounds
@KulshanStudios I have the UltraNova and I love alot of the sounds, is there anyway to add the sound patches without losing what's on the synth?
@@mpix00 without the editor/librarian, I don't think so. I don't think the editor supports the ultranova anymore, and that means uploading sounds will be an all-or-nothing business using MIDI-OX or SysexLibrarian
Best recommendation would be to back up the factory sounds and re-upload them when you need them
I am thinking to get an ultranova because of the sound of these presets =D could you do a similar one for the virus? especially like the way the filters and detune sounds on the nova!
We have 3 soundsets available for the Virus TI (and the Viper vst and DSP56300 Emulator) out right now! And many of the same patches are present across all these banks!
@@KulshanStudios yea listened to them however the nova sound had this kinda magic in it (that classic trance sound which I'm after), like the way the waveforms, filter and filter modulation/envelopes sound. gonna go back and listen to the virus patches again! what are your thoughts about ultra/mininova "vs" supernova I & II ? Haven't gotten any wiser by researching that topic, just looked like some prefer the older novas cause of the sound (less digital they say, though I could imagine it being not that drastic of a difference) - or it might only be because of the benefit, that they are multitimbral.
@@kaeptn go for the Mininova
Harder to design sounds on, but is still supported by iOS, and the VST still works with it
@@kaeptn we actually WOULD like to get an SN2 someday, but for the cost of acquiring one, we'd wanna go for a 48 voice keyboard SN2, and that gets pricey. There's some differences in the sound, we've been told, but not such drastic ones that it makes the Ultra/Mini sound like totally different synths
the Mini is definitely suitable for classic sounds as you can hear, and it has the added bonus of continuing to be supported by Novation, and is super portable
