I watched original video and used every output device I own. PC, Smart-TV and smartphone. And Teufel equipment sure is not bad. Used Bluetooth, optical and wire connection. Reminds me of some 2SfH CD's I own, after hearing the songs on iPod Shuffle. Well, it was much better on iPod than original CD on an expensive CD player. I can only assume the sound got optimized for the smartphone generation? Sad, but I will not buy anything where I need to see the lyrics printed out to understand a word. Actually, I would prefer an instrumental version of this. I assume Marco is just the better choice for me now?
Vocal mix was intentional. Floor + the choir in the chorus is "one voice".
Ik, doesn't make it a good choice though.
@@Makai_Reacts I agree, but the UA-cam commentors wont, they worship Tuomas. Its a great song, but the vocals are objectively too low and muffled. The excuse that Floor is 'part of the choir' isnt a good one because the entire choir is too low.
@@chrism2964 That's ok, youtube comments aren't always the best judge of anything. I generally go through 40 - 50 reactions to see the consensus that way across a lot of spectrums and view points. I agree with you 100%. The way they balanced the sound stage with her vocals is very off.

Bad choice then
Nightwish dont dissapoint "did you feel the ghost energy song"
I listened to this song maybe 50 times by now, and it is one i like to listen to with my headphones or without, its really a good song, when i can do so to me.
Some say Floors voice is low in the mix, and i can agree its hard to get all words she sing, but if you look at it soundwise it sounds amazing!! and after a listen or 2, you know most of lyrics, and its no problem at all, its done fully on purpose for the sound experince of it..

Yesterwynde is the opening track on new album, i belive its only like a intro, its a little over 2 min long, #2 on album then is a almost 10 min song, thats proberly another epic!! #3 is where i think they bring in a heavy track, and this Perfume of the timeless is #5.. so i think its gonna be a good mix of heavy songs, Epics, and maybe a full balled..
Perfume of the timeless, well its almonst a ghost energy song right, telling all these ancestors is perfume around in a timeless world, being around you still, also a message that your existens matters!! i feel tuomas also put in a little message that mankind could do better still, Einstein turn to ape..
The title of the album is a word made by band member Troy Donockley, which Holopainen describes as the feeling of time, history, memory, and being connected to past generation, who have "all had their lives, their ups and downs, and they don't exist anymore, except as atoms scattered all over the universe. And we're going to be in that state pretty soon as well. So that should give you something to think about."
Holopainen has described the album as being about humanism, history, and the inspiration thereof, and that outlook of the album is positive and optimistic ]

I was thinking why the singing and voice in this song is bad and muddled. The song is beautiful and good but Floors singing is just lost in all the noise

It's a great song, but the mixing is really strange. Their previous albums all used to have super crisp sound. At first I thought something was wrong with my headphones.
For me I could still understand Floor. But I could tell in the placement and separation it was totally off. Its why I briefly switched to basic monitor speakers to see a basic audio view of it. The beyer 1990s imaging is crazy good as well as the ability to separate.
What type of software you are using? The video stream is missing… and it’s not the original one. How are you able to understand the message behind the lyrics?
I listened on Spotify. So no video needed. The video is just a distraction from the music anyway. I use OBS to record most things as i'm live when I record reactions.
@@Makai_Reacts I have to disagree with you there. Nightwish songs live from the symbiosis of music, lyrics & video. If you only listen to it on Spotify, you only have one layer. That's far too little. At a live performance, videos play in the background - without them it becomes difficult... unless you've already internalized the entire poetry.
@@Makai_Reacts I think in a lot of cases the video can complement the song and not necessarily be a distraction. I mean, I can’t tell you the last time a song and or video came out and there were so many comments that were just all over the place I personally find the micromanagement of this song to a little bit of a turn off if you ask me. I personally like this song and yeah, it sounds a little bit different, but it was in people can disagree behind the rationale, but you know what I always give night credit for one thing they are not afraid to do something different and as we have found out, sometimes it backfires on them a little bit. Not all of us worship Tuomas. Even the best in their chosen fields, make poor judgments at times.
@@andyohil7465Yes, the video adds a layer for helping to understand the message of the song, but the song must speak on its own. I love this song, and I would like other people to love it, but not everyone has the connection with Nightwish that I have.
@@andyohil7465No they don’t. The songs usually work without videos. This is one of the few that actually need a video to function.
Worse than muffling Floor's voice on this track is not touring. Nightwish's studio songs are always meeeh. But they're F MONSTERS ON STAGE! I'm sure this song would sound amazing live. What a shame.
Definitely a smack to the face, but everyone is entitled to a break from touring.
Is there a specific reason not to react to the official music video, which is simply stellar & unique. I'd also say that you missed the deepness of the lyrics because of that.
He just doesn't prefer to react to music from UA-cam in general because of the sound quality
As infinityZ said. I'm all about audio quality. I find basically all music videos pointless. I'm here for the music.

Finally someone who posts a reaction video and is not blinded by the beautiful video. The vocal mix is terrible even though it was intended that way. Bad choice. Moreover, the composition has become a kind of compilation single, everything has already been heard from Nightwish.
