    The no calculator section of the math test can feature "undefined expression" problems- expressions that don't give you a real answer.
    Student Kenci posted a pic of this tricky problem in a Facebook group I belong to, / lightandsaltlearning . She found it in the advanced level practice of perfect squares and their roots on the Crash Course and got overwhelmed. And no wonder! It's got undefined expressions, a square root AND a fraction, all WITHOUT a calculator! Gulp! What a challenge. Follow along as Kate explains undefined expressions and how they show up with square roots plus uses pictures to figure out the fractions without a calculator or memorizing "steps".

    I believe the term for the expression inside of a radical is the radicand.

      Yes, I'm sorry. That's because I am using a free version of a screen recorder. Hopefully some day, Light & Salt will be able to invest in a higher quality program but I'm afraid it isn't currently in the budget.
