Good material, I am also with Maersk. On Santa class unfortunatelly, when you have a 24VDC earth fault, there is an engine stop...but this fault must be only in engine control modules to let it happen.
In our ship same problem coming , i switch off all consumers but the low insulation showing nearly 0. I switch off 2 chargers one by one but problem still same. Any advice ?

Mayroon ako case dito nah lowinsulation sa 24 V, nka zero ang insulation meter, P at N nag ilaw .pag ene earth test ko sya nag nonormal at infinity reading at ang namamatay na lamp indicatior ay ang N. Pag balik ko naman sa earth test switch sa normal position, mag zero at P N ang iilaw olit. Ang ginawa ko sa dc switchbaord namin, dhil may 2 breakers, (DC-A for navagitional equipments, fire alarms etc. at DC-B para sa Engine control console at main switchboard ) sa DC-A na inoff ko hindi sya nag normal, pero sa DC-B nung inoff ko nawala ang low insulation nag normal na.so doon ako SA panel board sa engine control room(DC-B)nka fuse na lng sila, 4 na fuse, ang 2 fuse ay para sa main switchboard positive at negative, at ang dalawa pang iba ay sa engine control console.. Tinanggal ko isa-isa ang positive fuse ng main switchboard, at engine control console. Wla parin,So tinanggal ko ang mga negative fuses. Sa engine control console wala parin nangyayari, pero nung ang negative fuse na tinggal ko sa main switchboard. Nwala na ang low insulation at nag infinity. 1.)Engine control console(alarms indicators and anunciators) 2.)DC Main Switchboard alarm (alarm circuit na may tatlong cards. Alarma Para sa low insulation 440,low insulation 100,preferencial trip at Emer. GEN. Eng. Abnormal at power ng lamp indicators sa emergency gen., (Emergency Gen. run, eng Abnormal at stanby , nung tinggalan ko ito ng negative fuse saka pa nawala ang low insulation.Ngayun palang tu nagka low insulation 24v,kadalasan nmn dito ay 440v,100v.

Just had on the ECU B 2 days back and good thing it was fixed immediately. I am doing this fault finding specifically for the MAN B&W engine.

Some ship there is not existing 24 vdc inducator of fault insulation,how to know that? Is it from 220v inducator ?!
