    “Graphic defense”???? Wow, the context of the book is not considered too graphic for a school library but someone referencing it IS considered graphic? One day I hope common sense prevails and our public schools get back to preparing students to learn reading writing and science, where we are WAY behind in relation to the rest of the world. This editorial is so utterly backward.

      @user-ls5ik1vm3k 7 місяців тому

      I wouldn't let her speak either. The Moms are an extremist lunatic outfit who only care about themselves, not even their own kids. They started out of their infantile, hissy-fit driven protests over a tiny, harmless piece of fabric during the covid mandates. Their behavior was horrible, and those parents who acted the worst probably scared their kids more than any mask, or even covid itself. Now the book banning? Ever hear of Adolf Hitler? Well the Moms sure have. One of their chapters recently directly quoted Hitler in one of their manifestos. They tried pulling back on it, only for another chapter to support them. I'll bet some 'Moms' or some of their supporters were in involved in the Jan. 6th riots. Many support Trump. Trump, who did not denounce the white supremist groups supporting him. So Joy was rude and disrespectful. How does that feel, 'Moms?'

Well it’s about the author I think his name is William?” (Or whatever it was) all of Joy’s “I got you now” questions were SO absurd & totally missing the point. And as many people have pointed out she would barely even let Tiffany talk. This was unbearable. An opportunity for a real conversation around this totally missed & Joy was left looking like a fool. What if the child sees himself as the abuser in this book? What if he's so aroused that he abuses his little brother or the kid next door?
    You're exposing a child to horrific material when they may not be ready to understand what it's about. Guest: Comments on details of a pornographic book and why it is inappropriate for young kids.
    Joy Reid: Eyes move to full derp position, teeth bucked to their fullest, and she queefs "Dur, what is duh main character's name?"
    Joy Reid is a beautiful example of a pigeon thinking it won a chess match because it knocked over pieces.

      The point she was making here is that the parent didn’t actually read the book. She pulled out of context quotes from someone else who listed them for “inappropriateness” instead of for what the words mean in context. One of the first questions on any library challenge form is “did you read this book in its entirety?” And most of the time the answer is no. How are you making judgments about something when you haven’t read it?

      Dude she knew the persons name. Nt only that she just said she would answer her question to turn around and ask a gotta question that only people like you with 2 braincells would think is important. She did the whole interview in defense mode and refusing to let her guest speak for more than just a few seconds before she so rudely interrupted like she did. If someone did that You in real life during a civil conversation it wouldn’t be civil for long.

      @@whitneymouse Things are made of constituent parts. Imagine that you are outside of your house and you notice the roof is on fire. You call the fire department and say "my house is on fine!" and the fire department responds "Have you checked every part of the house to see that it's on fire?"

    They call police when a parent reads these out loud at school meetings. You know why?! Because they don't want the public to know what they're trying to do to our kids. It's extremely important it stays behind closed doors because it's criminal & monstrous.

    Yes, libraries are not responsible for what your kids see, that's the responsibility of parents. If they get their kids a cell phone they give their kids access to more objectionable material than any library ever had.
