Thank you Peter for calling out Deke on his remark about Gene's teeth *** I told him the same thing you did only I took it a little further **** Really makes me angry *** I knew Gene for 14 years , he meant the world to me *** This Deke knows nothing about Gene and has no idea what Gene went through and how much he suffered *** All he ever wanted to do was sing and make people happy with his unique style of music *** Sweet Gene was "The Epitome Of Rock'n'Roll" His life was hard and messy *** Wished many times he would walk away from it *** It cost him dearly *** He was stubborn and determined *** He knew his life would be cut short *** He died at the young age of 36 *** I Loved him unconditionally *** He had a good heart ! Sir, With all do respect I take offense with your remark *** Due to Gene's medications for his leg it caused damage to his teeth *** He had extensive dental work in late 1965 into 1966 *** Please stop attacking Gene *** Just be thankful you did not have to walk a mile in his shoes *** From July 1955 , nearly lost his life and did have severe damage to his left leg in a motorcycle accident while in the Navy *** From that moment on he lived in constant pain wearing a steel leg brace and many , many surgeries over the remaining 16 years of his brief life *** If you can't say anything nice , then don't say anything at all *** Show some respect for this sweet man who is known as an icon in the world of Rock'n'Roll *** A Trail Blazer *** And the voice of an angel when he sings his ballads and gospel *** Carole/Baby Blue
