Nice ranking man! This would be a tough one for me tbh. Can't say I'd argue with your #1. I remember way back when I was first really diving into extreme metal our power went out at the house for a full day and I'd just hit the record store and bought Morbid Angel- Covenant, Obituary- World Demise, and Deeds of Flesh- Reduced to Ashes. I grabbed my walkman and sat in a candlelit room jamming Covenant front to back while reading along to the lyric sheet and from that day forward I've had a really strong connection with that album. Your placement of Pierced From Within is the only thing here that kind of shocked me but different strokes I suppose! Need to go back and rejam their s/t after hearing your comments on it. Love the channel man. Been running through your rankings while I work and you're making me wanna do a youtube channel again
I actually agree on Butchered at Birth! Some amazing moments and a couple classic songs, but the songwriting keeps it from cohering into something truly great
I met Alex Webster and told him my favorite C.C. song is Experiment in Homicide for its melodic bass solos. I encouraged him to play it live and write more songs with bass solos. The next times I saw them, they played Experiment and the next album (Torture) features 2 songs with bass solos. You're welcome. Thanks Alex. 🤘
Definitely agree with your bottom 2. I was actually listening to Covenant tonight while working out. While I still prefer Altars and FFF, I honestly forgot how good it was. Also nice to see I'm not the only one who think OUTC is Deicide's best.
I did not agree with your number 1 pick on the thrash. That went 2. Hell Awaits 1. Rust In Peace. But I do agree Covenant is the best pure death metal album in the world. I loved it now for 26 years. So are you going to do a top 40 glam rock video?
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 lol, no, man. I was just joking. It was your list anyway. Cool cool channel. You got another subscriber here. I just happened to be a fan of suffocation, hence, the reaction. Lol. More power.

Hey thanks a lot dude!
Dude pierced from within is like top 1 out of the 43 for me 😭
I knooooow very unpopular opinion lol

Yup! Also the terrible guitar tones lol

I still find it strange to see an big 4 of death metal without Death. But hey it's your list. Nice video ✌️
Thanks for watching! I actually have a video on Death if you wanna hear my thoughts on them haha
More like big four of brutal death metal, death metal itself its like "death , entombed , etc
@@felipegiraldo8100 entombed is more death n roll then trad death
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 wow how can you disclude the pioneers of death metal?
@@matthewlav1360 he did say active bands , and unless you count Tribute tours Death haven’t been very active for a very long time now
Butchered at Birth and the 3 “nostalgia” album placements were really the only things I disagreed with lol. Great list sir.
Lol I know there’s a couple controversial placements thanks for watching!
Definitely agree with your bottom 2.
I was actually listening to Covenant tonight while working out. While I still prefer Altars and FFF, I honestly forgot how good it was.
Also nice to see I'm not the only one who think OUTC is Deicide's best.
I feel covenant is like well respected but still underrated haha. OUTC is an actual masterpiece!
Once Upon The Cross is just a perfect death metal record to me. In the case of "Big 4 of Death Metal" I'd put it at #1 all day.
It's so fucking good!
Pierced From Within and Kill being back to back that low was a real kick to the pills. They'd probably be my 1 and 2. Fun list though!
a immolation ranking. Immolation and suffocation are my fav death metal bands 🤘🤘🤘
Definitely wanna do Immolation! There’s just a couple I haven’t listened to but when I do imma make a ranking!
Covenant is a killer record, I love angel of disease 🤘 punk death
I love your channel and I love this video
Thanks so much!
I love butchered. It's my favorite Barnes era cannibal.
I really wish breeding the spawn would get a remix, or even remade from the ground up
Hey man! Awesome vids! Can you post the link for your ranking of all Cannibal Corpse albums? I can't find it anywheres!

@@pairofjeansreviews2034 thanks man!
You should show pictures of all the albums you're ranking. Some people might not know about some of the albums in the video.
Covenant is an amazing album, sworn to the black and vengence is mine are my 2 favorite songs.
Those are actually my least favorite 2 songs on the album lol but they’re still absolutely killer
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 it's really hard to decide which songs are really the best.
Torn into Enthralment by Suffoction is one the best and heaviest death metal songs of all time
ranking souls to deny that low is felonious
I like the record, just not one that I go back and listen to very often

I don’t think I can name 10 glam albums lmao let alone ones I really like.... number 1 too fast for love...... number 2...... shout at the devil 🤷🏻♂️
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 I was. halfway kidding with you but I will ask you this seriously. Do you like Mercyful Fate/King Diamond?
I do! I was actually going to do a KD ranking video but wanted to wait for his new album but seems like that’s not gonna happen any time soon now
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 Cool
Should've done the Big 4 of Florida and the Big 4 of New York instead of mixing them up imo.
Interesting video nevertheless.
Insineratehymn, In Torment In Hell, Butchered At Birth, and Souls To Deny are all 100 times better than Kingdoms Piss Stained
I think if there was a big 4, Obituary would be in there over Suffocation
Obituary is easily the worst out of all the big death metal bands
I would've put in torment in hell by deicide at the bottom
Do you remember Cause of Death by Obituary?
Yes lol
Altars of Madness is overrated. I understand it was super influential when it came out, but it just isn't as good as stuff that came after it.
Finally someone who dares to say it loud. 100% of your opinion!
i love suffocation but how are they part of the big 4 and not death
My Criteria was that the bands had to be active, so Death doesn't meet that. If they were, then they'd of course be in the big 4
Biggest joke of the year for putting Butchered at birth 39.
Butchered at birth should be in top 10 at least imo
I dunno. Like I like the album and LOVE some songs but always thought it was pretty overhyped
Covenant was ok, apart from rapture, angel of disease and god of emptiness, the rest of the songs felt like filler
Big disagree lol
I really loved sworn to the black.
19:55 you may not like Roots, but it's one of the best metal albums ever made objectively speaking, and i don't even like it that much 🤙🤙
Really? Pierced from within? 😅
C'mon. Cool list though.
Lol I knoooow listen it’s an amazing album

Covenant > Alters
Always!
