Love your channel! I just moved to Huntington Beach this year. Already learned it's worth it to spend more money and miles on United just to fly out of SNA and connect in SFO over driving to LAX :) Keep up the great work
Nice airport tour. Thanks, Dear Chris for sharing. I appreciate you for all your efforts you make on all your informative videos. Best always to you! & family. 🙏🪷❤
They actually do passport control. If you look at Gate 13 &14 (you are starting right at them behind the frosted glass when you approached Terminal C at 4:49) they have sterile corridors leading to immigration, baggage claim for internationals, and customs. You can see them even more clearly if you happen to have a flight departing from one of those gates. It is behind frosted glass at lower level baggage claim and there are doors that are "no entry" that have customs. They are only for Mexico flights since Canada flights have pre-clearance at the origin airport.
I've lived in L.A. my entire life, yet I've never flown into or out of John Wayne Airport. I avoid LAX whenever possible, so I usually fly out of Burbank, Long Beach or Ontario. I'm not avoiding OC, but I guess the flight offerings just haven't met my particular needs. Thanks, as always, for the informative video, Chris!
Hi Chris. Thanks for the informative walk thru. I can understand why you and many other travelers prefer John Wayne. I wouldn't mine paying a little more to avoid the hassles of LAX. Take care.
I ❤️ SNA!!! If we can get our flight out of PAE instead of SEA and go to SNA, our trip is a WIN! When we stay at our aunt's house on Newport Beach, we always know when it's time to wake up because the planes start taking off and the sea lions start barking. 😄
That looks like a very nice airport. I'll have to consider flying in here whenever I get a chance to visit Orange County or the LA area. I didn't realize until just now that there are nonstop flights from Detroit to Orange County with Delta!
I love it there. It’s 10 minutes from house . It’s better than going to LAX. I use it when I go to Europe . I just get a layover somewhere else in the country
This is our local airport, love to always fly to or from here- limited international flights. Noise requirement, I agree , does turn my stomach a bit when they do their sharp ascend. There’s a rip curl outlet 10 mins drive from airport, don’t buy your surfing stuff from airport. Great airport
Nice video Chris! We just got back from John Wayne. It was so early I didn’t have a chance to walk around. I had no idea they were opening up a bordard. Your video was in March. I wonder if that restaurant opened yet. I also agree I would much rather have an in and out instead of McDonald’s.
Great video like always but you totally miss the pet relief area. Since working at SNA always walk down to Delta and American security checkpoint since it's the less busy than the others. That's my 2 cents of information and if you don't park at main street you can park at the south cover parking lot and you won't have alot of traffic to deal with. Thank you for your information and videos.
My airport. Must have flown out 1000X. As a "A" Southwest flyer I can park my car and be at the gate in 10 minutes. Just wish they had a few more popular long hauls. Continental use to have a NS to Newark twice a day, not sure if they still do. A few NS to the tri-state area, maybe Miami? That would be cool!
Great video. I have a question,my family and I are flying on southwest and will be taking a Lyft to our hotel. Is it easy to get to the pickup area from the baggage claim area?
I fly out of SNA all the time for domestic flights. I'm 15 minutes away, so paying extra is a nob brainer if I get to avoid the congested waste land LA has become.
Yes John Wayne IS the way to go in Southern CA. The only THING, the TSA are VERY aggressive and ENJOY patting people down and "checking people out" in the scanning machine.
Didn't have that problem myself a couple of weeks ago, but they did find a Leatherman multi tool i had forgotten in my carry-on - oops! The agent was very cool about it, even suggesting that since security was quiet i could go out, check it as checked luggage, and come back through! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience - hope you reported it!
Ok, so if we have a 6:45 board, they have to wait until 7:00 to fly because of the noise ordinances? A couple behind me was complaining the whole time because they had to wait the 15 minutes
I wish its not so expansive flying out from John Wayne because I live like 10 min from the airport. I love flying out of it because its so easy but i have to do LAX many times because some tickets are even half the price of John Wayne which is crazy. Like the other day I need to fly to Philly this Nov for family visit and John Wayne ticket is $560 round trip per person while LAX is like $260
I will be flying into SNA to Disneyland in California. It is way better than buffalo airport and Orlando Florida. Because in Orlando airport it is always very busy there
This video was interesting and sad to watch, because I was looking at the majority of the people that were flying out of that airport, and I was wondering was it because of the prices which keep a certain group of people away, also I was struck by the comment about airplanes must keep quiet flying over affluent homes, and the types of restaurants in that terminal, I have been to John Wayne airport ONCE since living here and it seems NOTHING has changed.
Its a great airport as opposed to LAX but SNA really really really needs an upgrade especially the restaurant choices. The whole airport is stuck in the early 90s
Planes cutting their engines as they fly over the rich peoples houses, just to appease them and meet the noise abatement rule?! That sounds dangerous! I flew out of and into this airport once. I remember it being very bright and clean.

I have never been into this airport but have seen it several times. I think LAX will take a back seat now
I remember when the boarding gates were outdoors under a canopy and passengers walked across the tarmac onto a portable stairs.
Love this airport its always quiet and calm. We use it whenever we go to disneyland. I'd also recommend the Long Beach Airport too
Thanks for the tip on LGB!

Thanks Narangi! Yes.. SNA is great 😀
Wow this airport has really changed since I flew out in 2000 thank you for this video very informative
My pleasure!
This is a gorgeous terminal. Thanks for the tour!
It really is!

Love your airport series! Looking forward to one on SAN! Good work buddy.
Thanks Delhi! I'll put SAN on the list!
We went thru South Carolina airport and LOVED IT!!!!

Thanks reed!
Burbank has an airport too. I plan on going to Anaheim someday (Angels and Disneyland) that's why I'm interested in SNA. I also heard of Ontario.
Love John Wayne Airport. I have flown to and from that airport and never had any flight delays or cancellations
Love these airport tour videos!
More to come!
I love SNA. I see flights taking off from there every morning on my way to work.
Thumbnail is awesome 😮
Hi Chris. Thanks for the informative walk thru. I can understand why you and many other travelers prefer John Wayne. I wouldn't mine paying a little more to avoid the hassles of LAX. Take care.
Thanks James! Indeed. A much nicer airport experience!
Thanks for the info + video!

This is one of my favorite airports! Glad to see this video!
Thanks a lot!

I don't think Brodard has opened yet
Best airport in the LA area!!!!!!!! Much easier than BUR or LAX!!!!!! Happy and safe Travels
Hopefully you also did SFO over the summer!
Coming out soon! 😀
Where are the shuttle vans at the airport? I’m thinking of using Karmell shuttle vans to get to one of the Disneyland hotels.

Agreed.. need more long hauls out of SNA. And yes. United still operates flights to EWR
Great video. I have a question,my family and I are flying on southwest and will be taking a Lyft to our hotel. Is it easy to get to the pickup area from the baggage claim area?
Yes. There are 3 rideshare pickup areas. One at each garage in front of each terminal. It's a short walk from whereever you arrive
That restaurant that’s closed used to be a Mexican restaurant called Javier’s

Why no shots of the statue? Was my favorite part of the airport when I was there last September.
Because it's in baggage claim... and I had extra time while I was waiting for my flight post security 😀

what sucks is they stopped doing direct flights from hawaii awhile back, now you need to goto seattle pdx or sfo before sna
Agreed.. I really like to Hawaii flights from SNA
No Delta lounge?
Nope.. just American and United

Sir is there any specific location to wait for Uber upon arrival?
Yeah.. the uber pickups are in the parking garages... the uber app will tell you where to go
Are there any videos of hiw the inside of the plane looks
Planes cutting their engines as they fly over the rich peoples houses, just to appease them and meet the noise abatement rule?! That sounds dangerous! I flew out of and into this airport once. I remember it being very bright and clean.
The statue of John Wayne is no longer there?
It's in baggage claim
Long Beach airport is another good alternative to LAX
Definitely!
