Dhola by Surinder Shinda - ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਦਾ ਢੋਲਾ

Surinder Shinda (Surinder Pal Dhammi) hailing from Ludhiana, Punjab is a Punjabi singer, composer and actor and has been described as "legendary". His is not quite the career that his parents had in mind for him. He had been a colleague of the Punjabi singer Kuldeep Manak and has also taught music to the late Amar Singh Chamkila, Gill Hardeep, and his son, Maninder Shinda. He attained fame for the mesmerizing traditional singing of a KALI (a singing-style) with Kuldeep Manak and several others. His Jeona Morh is considered as a Legend in Punjabi music. His song "Badla Le Layeen Sohneya" is one of the greatest hits of Punjabi music ever. His singing parallel to the pop singers gave jitters to many. He is an artist who rose from mustard fields to disco lights.
He has had numerous hit songs including Jatt Jeona Morh, Putt Jattan De, Truck Billiya, Balbiro Bhabhi and Kaher Singh Di Maut. He has also appeared in Punjabi films such as Putt Jattan De and Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da. He made his debut in 1979 and has been active ever since.
We are sorry to mention, he passed away on July 26, 2023 in D.M.C . hospital Ludhiana after brief illness a great loss to Punjabi music Industry .
Kalcine, in association with Visions of Punjab, had the privilege of recording Surinder Shinda during Professor Mohan Singh Mela of 1992 in Ludhiana.
