I had a 58 Caravan from 1969-1989. The influence for the car is the 1955 Chevy. Look at the tail lights. You will see the exact copy. Thanks for the video. I very much enjoyed learning more about the car.
In 1957 some Buick Dealerships in North America started selling Opel cars, but it wasn’t until a few years later that they really started a major advertising campaign. After the Fuel Crisis, they started selling quite respectably. Great videos. 🚗🙂
Thank you so much! Yes I was a bit aware of the fact that Opel was sold either as Opel, or as Buick, but I didn’t know they were quite successful! - Ralph
This was one of my dad's earlier cars. I can't remember it, but I have a picture of me sitting in the driver's seat, I was maybe two years old. I hope you make a video of the Commodore, the Commodore C was my first car.
@@Modeltnick that could be a possibility, however I’m not aware that these cars were shipped to the US as well! Don’t forget to watch the other Rekord story videos as well! - Ralph

@@RalphTSMobiles My high school buddy had the station wagon Opel Rekord! It was old in 1969. Hard to keep running.
@@Modeltnick that is awesome! Thanks for sharing the story! - Ralph
Imported by the US military personnel stationed in Germany on a private manner.
@@user-Fernand1910 Thanks! Makes sense.
- Ralph
