- Here's a very unique homemade shallow water dive helmet, it's styled after John Wayne's helmet in the film "Reap The Wild Wind." This was a hand made helmet and marketed by Journeyman Master Diver Gary L. Harris, who produced many interesting shallow water helmets over the years under the name "Subaqueous Engineering." Each helmet is made from ship-grade corrosion resistant SMAW welded and coated steel.
It's a verh blocky helmet! I love it!
Yo, that's pretty cool !
What shorts/suit are you wearing? I'd love to get a pair!
They are Tru-Spec UDT shorts!
What did you do for a compressor and umbilical?
We use anything from tank to compressor depending on what we're diving and the situation. For this short photo shoot we just used a tank
Was this at the boat ramp off of the stretch , headed to Key Largo ?
Shhh don't tell anyone (one of the best kept secrets in the keys)
@@brasshatdiver Thought of diving some of my Kirby Morgan's there by the ramp before the dock burned down
How deep is it possible to go wearing the helmet?
