In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
I love how they were all so focused on not blinking that none of them achieved anything in the time they saved.
They were probably thinking about what to do
they could've closed their eyes and bought about it for as long as they liked
I love how we all just watched the same video and yet here you are, explaining to us all what we just watched.
HAHA THEY DID NOTHING BUT STARE how bless
Just like all the men running away from Alex in the bin task, especially Rhod
I love that Hugh just genuinely seemed to be enjoying jumping over the horse again and again! This series' cast is so wholesome and definitely one of my favs
Hugh, Noel, and Acaster need to be brought back on
@@user-td4gh6kj2z and Rhod, dont forget Rhod.
Adults just don't play enough
Don't forget Bob
The contrast between Lolly and Hugh's athletic prowess is just beautiful
"You're nearly 50."
What we think it will look like,
and what it actually looks like.. 🙄
I know a girl with about the same level of athletic prowess and I just can't fathom growing up without doing at the very least a cartwheel
Rhod Gilbert would go blind before he started this task.
or the dude from norwegian taskmaster that spent hours without blinking
I want Rhod and Hugh to compete against each other.
@@ThyoCyanate The guy from Ylvis would finish the task without blinking and none of it would have counted
@@ThyoCyanate I need more info
@@mattcoyle1620 when I first started watching these clips of taskmaster is took me ages to tell Rhod and Hugh apart. I thought they were the same person and was very confused when I heard different names.
I thought Hugh's attempt was decent until I realize I can't do flips like that...! And this guy is in his 50 something, absolutely incredible imo haha!
you probably can though
@@La_sagne You're right, after practicing maybe I could...
Hugh is realistically mid 80's.
@@Carolynnee He was born in 1962 so nowhere near 80.
If I were to attempt that I'd run up to the horse, slip, land my face on the side of the horse and break my neck.
*"Task starts when you blink"*
I was hoping one of them would just close their eyes and not open them.
“Your task starts when you next blink.”
Rhod Gilbert: “Get me some gaffer tape!”
So, Hugh got full five points for using the pommel horse for almost exactly what it was designed for. That is incredible.
When you're over 50 and can use a pommel horse properly, you deserve to win.
The arbitrary nature of the points awarded is part of the hilarity.
"I actually think it adds to the beauty"
"How so?"
"I think if I put that into words it will diminish the beauty..."
Mel and Hugh are the dream team for real.
I swear I've watched all of TM, but I keep seeing new and hilarious tasks. Lovely surprises
Some of them could be tiebreaker tasks that they never had to use
Can't believe none of them know the trick to never blinking. Just alternate winking.
If Rhod was there, he would have had 17 minutes.
Love this series with some of my favourite contestants!! Love especially Hugh and Mel. They will always be 'the parents' for me!
“You are out of the magic circle”
Hugh definitely deserved 1st place!
If someone just closed their eyes before saying "blink" they could have had infinite time to think something up
You're so smart wow. I guess we would have never thought if that. Oh wait, there was a different task that said "don't blink" and Alex came up with the exact conclusion. What a coincidence huh ?
@@It-s-me-P You must be fun at parties
@@It-s-me-P You should see a therapist for those crippling insecurities of yours, flaunting them in UA-cam comments won't actually help you.
@@Arthur-ek7nd No, nobody is fun at parties. Parties are the antithesis of fun.
They should have done the don't blink thing with the Norwegian taskmaster crew. Freaking amazing how long they were able to not blink.
"Bård, it's almost time for you to go home, are you ready to do the pommel horse task?"
"Of course I am, but I just can't BLINK!!!"
"Don't ask me because I saw it being moved by the people" lol
2:29 is how hugh got the james bond gig
pom-mel giedroyc genuinely made me laugh
Mel: "Oh I like it." Greg: "What a waste of everyone's time."
The correct responses from both of them.
Alright I'm gonna rewatch series 4 again. I need Mel's positivity
all of the performances were credible except the ones involving dishonesty, those were incredible
Seeing the Wellies, all I could think of was the cover art for Gaelic Storm's album 'Bring Yer Wellies' with the cow on the cover wearing a set of Wellington Boots.
I would smear it with baked beans.
Incredible edible
Me everytime i finish a Taskmaster Video: TASKMASTERS ON! IT IS ON NOW!
It’s just as well they didn’t do this task in Norway. The total time before it started would have been about four hours.
Joe Lycett perfectly summed up the pretentious nonsense that is modern art. Genius my friend!
okay but can we say how attractive noel was staring at the camera???
I would close my eyes for extra time to think. Blink consists from eyelid closing then opening right?
I was thinking about that, but then tested it out, and realized I was blinking with my eyes closed.
Although the argument could be made that if it's not a quick movement of the eyelid, it's not a blink; thus (arguably), you could open and close your eyes in slow motion and not count it as a blink at all.
They had a Who can go the Longest Without Blinking Contest. Greg's friend Rhod won & he warned people not to try it. His hurt very much. Later, in the studio, Alex said they could have closed their eyes as a tactic & it would have been allowed. They where a little upset they didn't think of it.
Yaaaaas full task! You've got it right!
Rhod Gilbert could still be doing this task.
I may be a lost cause, when Joe took off his boots i thought he was gonna get under the horse
Hugh Dennis is so lovely
My instant idea was pommel horse giving birth to a chair.
I guess there was a reason why I didn't have a recollection of this task.
Mel is so lovely
LOVE MEL...
Oh dear, is that your handle on here Mel?
I really wanted one of them to close their eyes from the start, so it wasn't a blink. Then brainstorm what to do with it.
Love Hughs jump.
I love this show so damn much it is so clever
I think they should invite the US Pommel Horse Expert
Did anyone notice that Alex Horne specially composed the music for the edit of Noel’s one? He’s a VGB
This is all well and fine but what the heck did Mel DO with all the Taskmaster wax seals she kept saving?!! Enquiring minds want to know!
When Mel appeared on the Taskmaster Podcast (episode 42), she said she gave all but one of them to the son of someone she worked with on a theatre show, as he was such a big fan of Taskmaster.
4:47 BIBLICALLY ACCURATE HORSE
Funnier if you noticed the people moving the horse on the right side of the screen at 6:57 as the camera changes
Its just where they placed it its the pommel horses foot on the ground that you see
Well, they're no Ylvis in the blinking department :D
I think Lolly is gorgeous
Did this inspire the don't-blink-task in season 7?
I would have closed my eyes, until I open them again it technically wouldn't be a whole blink.
i really love all these people.
I'd have loved to see one of them just close their eyes and sit on the doorstep for a while to think.
Easy not to blink if your eyes aren't open ;)
Is that what got Hugh the role in James Bond?
I wouldnt say TIME STARTS NOW
I would have asked Alex to also flip over it with me. That would be fun
time starts when you blink ... If you close your eyes and not open them, you aren't blinking. So just close your eyes until you think up an idea and then execute the idea after you open your eyes :)
Hugh looks like a die hard UK remake
I was at the London 2012 pommel horse final. :-)
The intro music looks like gta 4
Nola and Mel rocked
As someone who is weirdly attracted to Hugh, this video is very much appreciated.
I love these clips but I dislike the way they've started putting the final task shown as a cold open. I feel like the genius of the show is in the editing and spoiling the order of things diminishes that.
I have never seen Mel Giedroyc in any show where she didn't make me laugh.
Instead of blinking just close your eyes and open them. Claim it as 2 separate actions see if you can get away with it.
If you just closed your eyes and didn't reopen them is that blinking?
If I had more time I would’ve laid it on a green screen and recreated the end of Dr Strangelove.
Are they ever going to post full episodes again? or is that over?
We have to wait for a new series
I wanna see a reenactment of Trojan Pommel Horse.
upload series 12, what are you waiting for ?
It's out. Just blocked in some countries
@@Andjelka99 youre right wth? every other series i can watch in canada but not s12
They could have just closed their eyes while coming up with an idea instead of focusing so much on not blinking that they couldn't think of anything else...
i think im gonna learn how to jump over the horse :D
"Why is the horse wearing wellies?" Lol
Once they said the timer starts after you blink I went the rest of the challenge without blinking :^)
Noel should have won!
I want a mel 😂❤
typo in the description luls
I would have said that I won the Olympics on that horse, because that not credible.
Noel got short changed imo. Should of come 2nd. Smh.
I would have peed on it lmao
What a waste of everyone’s time 😂😂😂
♥♥♥♥♥
What does papa mean in Georgian?
@@idiotidiot5821 the guy next door
I would sit on the horse and read some blatantly false information and conspiracy theories. After all, that would be the very opposite of credible.
Probably inappropriate to point out... Lolly's got a slamming body! Lucky pommel horse lol
Yuck
I agree but pointing it out is cringe
😁😅🤣😂
Dear America: why don't we like comedy on TV anymore? And I don't mean the poor substitutes of Fallon giggling like an 8th grade girl trying pot for the first time or Colbert proselytizing about politics to an audience prompted by a sign that says "LAUGH". I mean comedy, involving comedians just being hilarious for its own sake, like with this... Or "Big Fat Quiz", or "8 out of 10 Cats" or "Cats /Countdown" or "The Last Leg" or "Hypothetical" or on and on and on.
And here's the thing: Alex brought Taskmaster (the best of the lot imo) over here... And we didn't watch! We're so damned full of ourselves that we can't laugh unless we're told that we won't get in trouble for it first.
We had Jack Benny, Burns and Allen, Abbott and Costello, Red Skelton, and Johnny Carson. We made "Mad World" and "Tootsie" and "Seinfeld" and "I Love Lucy." What the hell happened?
The US version wasn’t good. It’s why it was canceled. Your essay lamenting the downfall of comedy was a very unnecessary read. This is UA-cam, sir.
@@parryyotter Thanks for reading. I don't usually do things that I find to be unnecessary, but to each their own... Obviously...
No, it isn't that you needed to be told "you won't get in trouble." Hell, the opposite. Easiest laugh and applause to get out of an american audience is to claim that someone else won't like whatever joke that just failed to get a laugh by itself.
"You hold things like "I love lucy" as part of the pinnacle of comedy, and lambasted colbert for having audiences be prompted to laugh.
But they would have used a laugh sign too. So it's really just that you don't like that it's "political". Maybe that's the real problem, everything is political. You can't even care about your fellow man without riling donkeys.
Really baffling some people, she watched Olympians and just assumed she could do it too???
It’s almost like she’s a comedian and did that as a joke
These were all terrible
I don’t know why, but throughout this series I got the feeling that Greg and Hugh don’t get on.
