when boydes were 99 bucks that was good and bought several. but now they went up in price plus you have to wait 4-6 weeks and they cost half the price of the rifle :(
If you go with Boyd's make sure you order the steel trigger guard and steel mag catch. It will come with flimsy garbage plastic. Also, if you want pillars installed, make sure you include them with your order. It is a $55 upcharge, but a gunsmith will charge you $200. IMPORTANT: Boyds does not take stocks back for gunsmithing, so if you miss something on your order you are SOL.
Great video. I just purchased a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 CM as well and you totally sold me on this setup. I think I am going to buy the same checkering and added features you have after looking at all the options on their website. The peppered comes out better than I imagined. Nicely done. Thank you. I just need to confirm with Boyd's that their stock will work with my magazine type. There are two types apparently and Bell and Carlson told me my rifle/magazine type will not work with their stock offering.
Boyds stocks are inferior to say the least when it comes ruger american stocks. I spent hundreds at my gunsmith after the initial purchase from boyds, trying to get my rifle to sit right. Even my gun smith says boyds quality control has went waaaaaay down!
I bought a Boyds for my Ruger American Predator and it WILL NOT WORK. Very disappointed, have several other Boyds stocks that work flawlessly but not this one.
Thank you for your video. Unfortunately, I will not use Boyd's because not one, but two bad experiences. They are rude and inconsiderate of their customers. I can say that because I'm not the only one who has experienced the same. I would recommend Bell and Carlson or McMillan. Anything else, unless you'd like to be treated like hot garbage. Despite a plathora of information, more than a dozen calls, and emails. I still got sighs and snappy responses. I will not buy from them unless I get an apology and compensated for their mistakes. Thanks for the info. I hope someone else has better luck than several of us have had when their prices were close to a C note. I will pay for good service and a quality product. I think they forgot who helped them keep their lights on.

Great video brother!
Factory plastic stocks make great boat paddles. Boat paddle Lives Matter.

With the after market stock cost and the glass bedding why not just buy a better rifle like the Tikka or the Bergara ?
For some reason Boyd's does not make a stock for the Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39. Very disappointed.
Love the build and the personality is dark and gray im guessing lol I have the same stock just on my ruger american 30-06
Does that stock still allow for the free-floating barrel?
That stock is very cool
Any suggestions to where I can buy synthetic stock for a ruger 17 hmr?
do you know how much does it weight? the stock? thanks
Nice
