- Found this vintage console TV on the side of the road. It was actually in pretty good shape. It didn't have a year of manufacture on it but the model SH2575P is from the mid-70's.

This channel is all about junk found at the side of the road. I used to find a lot of abandoned TV's on the side of the road and started posting pics of them to my Facebook page. The pictures turned out to be super popular so I decided to dedicate this UA-cam channel to those TV's as well as any reviews of other random junk on the street I come across - such as electronics, appliances, clothes, toys, tools, and more!
Thank you for saving this!!! :)
It was sad when I once watched a tv like this get crushedby the garbage trick.
Hope somebody picks this thing up. I don't even care if they turn it into a dog bed or fishbowl, as long as it doesn't just rot or get trashed.
Bob Woggle true, at least it wont have to rot.
My grandmother is dead but she loved them consoles because she could decorate with her knickknacks.
Chromacolor 2 is the zenith of Zenith. After this it was all downhill.
Had an '82 and lasted 21 years.
100 percent solid state meaning no tubes except picture tube
used to work in a shop, one day a Zenith came in after 23 yr of use, we fixed it and probably it's still going. these were the best sets.
I actually had a tv exactly like this back in 2006 when we first moved in, we could barely afford a tv so we picked an old one out from a garage sale.
I'm sure Shango066 would have pick up this beauty.
is not cheap plastic nor plastic emitting wood but real wood.
Shango066 is great, his TV problem solving skill set level is quite high that dude can fix TVs!
You should have saved it. Those were the best tvs. Better than flatscreens. Probably at the dump now
Indeed they are. They are built to last, and those that do have issues (vertical collapse, power off instantly) are easy fixes. You used to have to lug your monster to some TV repair place (which almost doesn't exist anymore), but the process of discharging the tube is relatively safe if you know what you're doing. The parts are literally pennies. Capacitors, ICs, you name it. Replace it yourself and your glow tube will be as good as new. Now as for flat panels, if that ribbon cable corrodes where the driver boards are, the screen is toast. Cracked screens are instant death. The most sensitive part in a flat panel is the logic board (the one that controls the driver boards). Even if you are well grounded, you can easily fry this board from static if the air is too dry. They simply weren't built to last. When they die, the companies rake in the dough.
Should had smashed it, way worse than lcds
@Paula Johnson I found a working Magnavox from 2002. Does anyone want it? It also has a tape player.
@@harshnemesisuhh... are you trolling?
I wish I had a truck, a place to store and work, and the strength. It looks like 70' S model.
I lift weights and have a low Toyota Truck, I could have got it by myself and probably would have, but would be hoping it worked thats what i wanted to know!! - anyways nice nostalgia of using and old console TV, i used to lie down in front of them to watch as a kid, lol
Hurts to see one in great shape waiting to go to scrap as late as 2017.
So this is what happens to " THE OLD TESTAMENT ".
That's a 25HC50 (H-line) probably from 1976. The little grate above the chromacolor II logo is to allow sound to enter from the ultrasonic remote. There's a switch to turn off the remote sensor since it used a decent amount of electricity even in standby.
I really like the way these old American TV's look, I don't think there was anything like these in the UK.
Mid 70s Zenith, not a hybrid ,it's solid state.
I think mid 1980s its worth fixing i think
thats really k😎😎l
Old 1971 year of manufacture
some of the Cromacolor tv's had great pictures and color. worth having if the tube id ok but parts can be a problem to get.
Like 4k is Today.
Its a1975 year model
Is it me or does this look like the tv from counter strike source
I want to make these.. is there a specification to follow when mounting CRTs onto wooden frames? Special grounding protocol etc? I would assume it's similar to mounting a CRT onto an arcade cabinet, but then again, I've never done even that. Maybe I have to ask someone who makes arcades... I'm quite shocked at how many people want these things. They come to my shop asking if I have them and I have to tell them no :/ So then I asked if they might consider buying one if I make it using a regular CRT from the thrift and mounting it into a custom console cabinet. They said as long as they can use the remote to desaturated (black and white) then they'd give me a nice $250 - 300 for it. Folks, I think it's time to get to work ;)
That is a really old Zenith I hope someone picks this up for trash pickup
UHHH, you did not pop the back off, i wanted to see the innards, i was betting on a hybrid set! also you can connect next gen game systems up to a TV like that, just connect a hdmi to composite up to a RF modulator or VCR
These tv used a really cool remote that used sound instead of infrared like they do now
Is it me or does this tv look exactly like the one from day of defeat source?
and while in slovakia these are rare .
Mid to late 1970s Space command is the remote control master switch behind the swing panel.
There was also remote option which was selected, so this probably means the ir blaster, not sure why they left the space command option, did some people really want to use their old remote control with stupid mic pickup?
those old TVs can be turned into awesome fish tanks.
